1. OVERCOMING LANGUAGE BARRIERS IN INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS: CHALLENGES, STRATEGIES, AND MARKET IMPLICATIONSIva Šćepanović, 2025, ni določena Opis: The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the origins of language barriers, the types of language barriers, their causes, consequences, and ways to overcome them. The goal is to demonstrate the importance of clear communication and how to achieve it in international business.
In the theoretical part of this research, the thesis presents existing solutions, but it argues that there will be fewer obstacles only when businesses start paying more attention to this issue. It also includes current cultural dimensions, which help explain certain cultural differences in habits, communication, and their application in the business world.
After researching real-life cases and conducting interviews, we found that language barriers are a common obstacle in international business today. Some solutions to language barriers may not work equally well in every situation. However, when it comes to misunderstandings, most people resolved them in a similar way. An important lesson from the interviews is that calm and clear communication is key to solving communication problems. This makes up the empirical part of the thesis.
Combining quantitative and qualitative methods helped to get reliable, complete information and confirm the hypotheses.
Although many solutions have been proposed, there is still room for further research as AI and technology continuously advance. Ključne besede: language barriers, diverse employees, international business, technology, artificial intelligence. Objavljeno v ReVIS: 15.10.2025; Ogledov: 305; Prenosov: 3

2. Dynamic Pricing Model Factors: Configure-to-Order Product and Business-to-Business Sales PerspectiveJoni Koskinen, Tomi Kanniainen, Janne Harkonen, Harri Haapasalo, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose: Dynamic pricing is a pricing strategy in which product prices are dynamically adjusted based on factors relevant to the pricing model. This study aims to fill a research gap in understanding the dynamic pricing of Configure-to-Order (CTO) products in the business-to-business (B2B) sales context. The primary objective is to understand the dynamic pricing model factors that influence the pricing of CTO products.
Study design/methodology/approach: This study involved a qualitative exploration of mechanical industry product pricing through an extensive literature review and thematic analysis of rich data mainly obtained through semi-structured interviews.
Findings: The findings suggest that the widely discussed pricing model challenges significantly affect configure-to-order (CTO) pricing models. CTO-specific challenges stem from product complexity, high customization, and unique configurations, which make pricing more intricate. This study clarifies the dynamic pricing model factors relevant to the business-to-business CTO product context in the mechanical industry, and highlights how configurability shapes these factors. This unique aspect of CTO products introduces additional dimensions to pricing considerations, which require tailored approaches for effective implementation.
Originality/value: The original contribution is provided by identifying the dynamic pricing model factors for business-to-business configure-to-order products in the mechanical industry context.

The future of supervision mechanisms under the OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises on responsible business conductJernej Letnar Černič, 2024, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises for Responsible Business Conduct are a quasi-legal document imposing obligations on the state to regulate the activities of multinational enterprises when doing business at home and outside the Member States of the OECD. This chapter discusses the current state of the OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct and their added value for rights holders concerning corporate adverse human rights conduct. It first describes the origins and background of adopting the document and then moves to analyse the supervision mechanisms of the OECD Guidelines. As such, it concentrates on the added value of the specific instance procedures before the National Contact Points (NCPs). In this regard, it also analyses the role of the OECD Investment Committee and its peer review mechanism of the NCPs.
