1. Cybersecurity and the Slovenian electrical grid: regulation and policy recommendationsTal Pavel, Luka Martin Tomažič, 2026, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This article examines cybersecurity risks to the Slovenian electrical grid, a critical infrastructure asset, amid escalating global threats from state-sponsored actors, geopolitical tensions, and technological vulnerabilities, including ICT interdependencies, legacy systems, IoT devices, and supply chain weaknesses. Adopting an interdisciplinary lens from law, public policy, and cybersecurity, it addresses three research questions: identifying cyber threats, evaluating Slovenia's policy framework and legal regime, and proposing enhancements to resilience. Through normative-dogmatic, dialectical methods and a Xanthakian qualitative assessment of legislative quality, focusing on effectiveness, clarity, precision, and unambiguity, it uncovers gaps such as inconsistent strategic prioritisation, scattered provisions, and reactive approaches. Recommendations include formalising stakeholder cooperation, developing grid-specific strategies, mandating annual cyber stress tests, integrating AI-driven modelling, and refining drafting to ensure unified terminology. The study highlights Slovenia's need for proactive, EU-harmonised measures to bolster energy security amid an evolving cyber landscape. 2. Effects of an ayurvedic lifestyle intervention on quality of life and self-efficacy in health management in perimenopausal women : master’s thesis second-cycle bologna master's study programme Integrative health sciencesTina Rupnik, 2026, magistrsko delo Opis: Ozadje in cilji: Perimenopavza je občutljivo življenjsko obdobje, zaznamovano s številnimi telesnimi in psihološkimi spremembami. Zaključek: Razmeroma kratek in nizkointenziven ajurvedski program življenjskega sloga lahko pomembno izboljša kakovost življenja v perimenopavzi in predstavlja obetaven dopolnilni pristop k zdravju žensk. 3. How servant leadership in virtual project teams affects teamwork quality : doctoral thesis of the third-cycle Bologna study program Project managementMarkus Behn, 2025, doktorska disertacija Opis: This doctoral thesis investigates how Servant Leadership influences Teamwork Quality (TWQ) in virtual project teams – a topic of growing relevance as organisations increasingly implement remote and hybrid work models. Drawing on a comprehensive literature review and empirical research, the study first develops and validates a measurement instrument for TWQ tailored to virtual project environments. The research then examines the relationship between the degree of virtuality, Servant Leadership, and TWQ using a mixed-methods approach: Two large-scale online surveys and focus group feedback with Project Managers and project team members. The findings reveal that, contrary to common assumptions, the degree of virtuality (i.e., the extent of remote collaboration and geographic dispersion) does not inherently diminish TWQ. Instead, Servant Leadership emerges as the principal driver of high TWQ, positively impacting collaboration, trust, and performance regardless of team dispersion. Both quantitative and qualitative results demonstrate that leaders who prioritise empowerment, ethical behaviour, and the personal growth of team members foster stronger, more effective virtual teams. The study provides actionable recommendations for leadership development and organisational policy, emphasizing that leadership behaviours and process design are more critical to virtual team success than formal, organisational, or technical aspects alone. These insights contribute to leadership theory and offer practical guidance for organisations navigating the challenges of distributed work. 6. Enhancing sleep quality through transcendental meditation and Maharishi ayurveda in Hungarian population: an integrative approach : master's thesis of the second-cycle Bologna study programme Health sciencesKatalin Molnár, 2025, magistrsko delo Opis: Objective – Insomnia significantly impairs physical and psychological health, and existing pharmacological and behavioural treatments often have limitations. The study evaluated changes associated with a combined Transcendental Meditation (TM) practice and Maharishi Ayurveda (MAV) lifestyle modification in adults with sleep complaints. Methods – This single-arm, pretest-posttest mixed-methods study involved 37 Hungarian participants who were newly trained in TM and practised TM and MAV between April and August 2025. The Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS) and World Health Organisation (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaires were used alongside a custom questionnaire (HISQ) to capture participants’ subjective experiences. Data collection occurred pre- and post-intervention. Statistical analyses included Shapiro-Wilk, paired t and Wilcoxon, McNemar’s exact, rank-biserial correlation, Spearman’s ρ, Kendall’s τb, Holm correction, Fisher’s exact, and Mann–Whitney U test to assess changes in scores. Qualitative data underwent descriptive and thematic analyses to evaluate findings. Results – MAV and TM together significantly improved sleep quality and quality of life. Mean AIS decreased markedly (9.81→3.86; Δ = −5.95; p < 0.001), insomnia status shifted to non-insomnia (19 vs 0; McNemar p = 3.81×10⁻⁶), and WHOQOL-BREF improved across all domains. Qualitative responses were predominantly positive, and 94.1% recommended using TM and MAV together to address insomnia. Conclusion – This research highlights MAV and TM’s positive synergistic effects on sleep quality, emphasising their role as accessible, non-invasive alternatives to conventional therapies. However, larger-scale, randomised-controlled studies are essential to validate these findings. 7. The relationship between leadership style and lifelong learning of employeesLejla Imamović Lerić, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Research Question (RQ): Lifelong learning is the basis of today's business. All employees, and their managers, in modern times, need to continuously learn and work on developing their abilities. Nevertheless, lifelong learning requires certain efforts, and support is needed throughout the process. The main problem of the research was the influence of different leadership styles on lifelong learning. The main question was leaders and leadership styles influence the lifelong learning of their employees and followers? Purpose: The main purpose of the research was to examine the relationship between leadership styles and lifelong learning of employees. The purpose was to see which leadership styles were most supportive of lifelong learning, that is, which leadership styles lead to the greatest motivation when it comes to lifelong learning of employees. Method: In the theoretical part of the work, previous research related to this topic were consulted. Empirical research has been done on a sample of 30 companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, an analysis of leadership styles in the analysed companies, an analysis of lifelong learning methods, and the relationship between leadership styles and lifelong learning was examined. Results: The research results indicate that the most represented leadership style in small and medium enterprises is democratic (56.7%). When it comes to supporting employees in the context of additional learning, the research results indicate that autocratic leaders are most often willing to support their employees through financial investments, while democratic leaders are more willing to provide their employees with days off to improve professionally. Also, the research results show that the approach to learning among employees is the most studious and better in cases where the leader is an autocrat, but the avoidance of learning is most present in cases where the leader is laissez-faire. Organization: Through the research, it was determined which leadership styles contributed most to the motivation for lifelong learning, and insight into such results could be an input for leaders (or those who intend to become leaders) on how to adapt their style in the context of the greatest motivation of employees towards lifelong learning. Society: More knowledge, or learning, surely leads to greater social responsibility. Through lifelong learning, not only employees’ benefit, but also managers, clients, consumers, and the wider social community. Originality: Research of this type is one of the most important in this region, where the connection between leadership styles and lifelong learning is sought on a sample of small and medium-sized enterprises. Limitations / further research: Research limitations refer to difficulties in the process of forming a sample and obtaining data. Recommendations for future research refer to the inclusion of additional variables in the existing constellation, among which are change management, quality, formal education. 8. Safety culture in telemedicine: literature review and research agendaIvan Jurišić, David Bogataj, 2025, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Telemedicine expands healthcare access and offers opportunities to strengthen patient safety, but it also introduces risks that challenge traditional safety practices. This literature review examined studies from Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed to explore how safety culture is shaped in telemedicine settings. Findings show that while healthcare professionals demonstrate strong personal commitment to safety, organizational structures often lack leadership support, training, structured protocols, and cybersecurity integration. Adaptability, continuous learning, and leadership engagement are critical for fostering a resilient safety culture in digital healthcare. Future strategies should focus on integrating cybersecurity, promoting leadership-driven safety initiatives, and supporting flexible, learning-oriented environments to ensure telemedicine maintains high standards of patient safety. 9. Social robots in the care of older adults: literature review and research agendaGordana Šantek-Zlatar, David Bogataj, 2025, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: The advancement of technology in the 21st century has brought numerous innovations to the world in which we live, forcing humanity to adapt. This technological innovation has led to transformations in how we communicate, how we value our interpersonal relationships, and even how we measure our quality of life. The social robot is a product of the 21st century and is a great example of how technology can contribute to one’s quality of life. It is predominantly meant for the older adults. The social robot improves the quality of life for the older adults through offering social experiences and providing emotional responses which ultimately addresses the loneliness issue that many older adults face. In this paper we explore the relationship between the older adults and the effect of the social robot on their quality of life. After a search in the WoS and PubMed’s database of scientific papers, we have extracted 11 helpful scientific papers that offer insights into this possible relationship. After consensus, we found that a social robot can’t replace human warmth and embrace; however, it still offers benefits to the older adults. Research suggests that living with a social robot can create positive interactions that reduce stress and improve a person’s mood. Depending on the design, the social robot can even help organize daily activities and encourage physical activity to contribute to a healthier lifestyle. 10. Digital energy systems and fundamental rights: smart metering in the EU and three CEE countriesZsófia Biró, Dorottya Deáki, Luka Martin Tomažič, 2026, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Article provides a comparative legal analysis of smart metering regulations in Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia, assessing how national frameworks align with EU objectives on energy efficiency, consumer rights, and data protection. While Hungary applies a pilot based, cautious rollout with unclear long-term goals, Slovenia offers detailed technical standards and data categories but shows enforcement gaps. Croatia adopts a forward-looking, consumer oriented and cybersecurity-aware model, yet requires refinement in definitions and data retention rules. The article concludes that an optimal regulatory model could combine Hungary’s flexibility, Slovenia’s data precision, and Croatia’s consumer protection. However, effectiveness depends on full alignment with the GDPR and the establishment of clear, enforceable rights for data subjects. The article also proposes two follow-up directions: (1) developing a practical guide for consumers on their rights regarding smart meters, and (2) exploring competition law implications related to exclusive access to consumer data in liberalized energy markets. Without harmonized EU-level data governance, smart metering may risk reinforcing regulatory inconsistencies and market imbalance.
