Tell me your companionship, and I will tell you who you are. Establishing and maintaining networking interactions of university-industry collaboration in the Danube region

Opis: University-Industry collaboration has drawn much attention in recent years when it comes to organizational studies. To enhance their competitiveness and innovativeness, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) must be ready to interact with a broad range of external actors - as in our case, academic High-Performance Computers (HPC) centres. The present discussion will draw attention to processes of creation of networking interactions. The research was conducted in 14 countries of the Danube Region, and it reveals conditions for creating and maintaining networking interactions between academic HPC providers and SMEs working in the automotive or electronic sectors. The main research questions the article addresses are a) how the networking interactions are initiated and structured in the Danube region, and b) what are the characteristi of networking interactions between automotive and electronic sector SMEs and academic HPC providers of the region.

European Union as an industry leader? Positioning European Union industrial policy in Danube regions reality

Opis: The world is rapidly changing. Impacts, ranging from technological innovation to health challenges the global economy. The EU has faced industrial policy struggles, lagging behind the USA and China in its industrial competitiveness. In 2021, the EU launched a plan to revive its industrial policy through a green and digital twin transition. The key question of the presented discussion is how are Danube region countries positioning themselves in relation to current EU industrial goals of twin transition. A tentative conclusion suggests that reindustrialisation, aligned with EU policy, is contributing to positive developmental opportunities, especially for competitively intermediate countries.

Reshaping the Danube region imaginary : #a #focus on digital transformation and HPC

Opis: In 2010, the European Commission launched Europe 2020 Strategy in response to the economic crisis and boost the EU’s economy. Later the same year, the EC proposes the European Union Strategy for Danube Region. The Danube Region being so diverse, it is important to understand it not only from the legal or administrative boundaries, but also to grasp the historical and cultural diversity. Consequently, in order not to neglect these primordial factors, this article addresses the Danube Region as a political and economic imaginary through the lenses of Cultural Political Economy, that focuses on the complexity of the reality. Following this line of argument, the aim is to understand the economic reshape of the Danube Region and the consequences of the European Union Strategy for Danube Region.
