1. Effects of an ayurvedic lifestyle intervention on quality of life and self-efficacy in health management in perimenopausal women : master’s thesis second-cycle bologna master's study programme Integrative health sciencesTina Rupnik, 2026, magistrsko delo Opis: Ozadje in cilji: Perimenopavza je občutljivo življenjsko obdobje, zaznamovano s številnimi telesnimi in psihološkimi spremembami. Zaključek: Razmeroma kratek in nizkointenziven ajurvedski program življenjskega sloga lahko pomembno izboljša kakovost življenja v perimenopavzi in predstavlja obetaven dopolnilni pristop k zdravju žensk. 2. Enhancing sleep quality through transcendental meditation and Maharishi ayurveda in Hungarian population: an integrative approach : master's thesis of the second-cycle Bologna study programme Health sciencesKatalin Molnár, 2025, magistrsko delo Opis: Objective – Insomnia significantly impairs physical and psychological health, and existing pharmacological and behavioural treatments often have limitations. The study evaluated changes associated with a combined Transcendental Meditation (TM) practice and Maharishi Ayurveda (MAV) lifestyle modification in adults with sleep complaints. Methods – This single-arm, pretest-posttest mixed-methods study involved 37 Hungarian participants who were newly trained in TM and practised TM and MAV between April and August 2025. The Athens Insomnia Scale (AIS) and World Health Organisation (WHOQOL-BREF) questionnaires were used alongside a custom questionnaire (HISQ) to capture participants’ subjective experiences. Data collection occurred pre- and post-intervention. Statistical analyses included Shapiro-Wilk, paired t and Wilcoxon, McNemar’s exact, rank-biserial correlation, Spearman’s ρ, Kendall’s τb, Holm correction, Fisher’s exact, and Mann–Whitney U test to assess changes in scores. Qualitative data underwent descriptive and thematic analyses to evaluate findings. Results – MAV and TM together significantly improved sleep quality and quality of life. Mean AIS decreased markedly (9.81→3.86; Δ = −5.95; p < 0.001), insomnia status shifted to non-insomnia (19 vs 0; McNemar p = 3.81×10⁻⁶), and WHOQOL-BREF improved across all domains. Qualitative responses were predominantly positive, and 94.1% recommended using TM and MAV together to address insomnia. Conclusion – This research highlights MAV and TM’s positive synergistic effects on sleep quality, emphasising their role as accessible, non-invasive alternatives to conventional therapies. However, larger-scale, randomised-controlled studies are essential to validate these findings. 3. Social robots in the care of older adults: literature review and research agendaGordana Šantek-Zlatar, David Bogataj, 2025, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: The advancement of technology in the 21st century has brought numerous innovations to the world in which we live, forcing humanity to adapt. This technological innovation has led to transformations in how we communicate, how we value our interpersonal relationships, and even how we measure our quality of life. The social robot is a product of the 21st century and is a great example of how technology can contribute to one’s quality of life. It is predominantly meant for the older adults. The social robot improves the quality of life for the older adults through offering social experiences and providing emotional responses which ultimately addresses the loneliness issue that many older adults face. In this paper we explore the relationship between the older adults and the effect of the social robot on their quality of life. After a search in the WoS and PubMed’s database of scientific papers, we have extracted 11 helpful scientific papers that offer insights into this possible relationship. After consensus, we found that a social robot can’t replace human warmth and embrace; however, it still offers benefits to the older adults. Research suggests that living with a social robot can create positive interactions that reduce stress and improve a person’s mood. Depending on the design, the social robot can even help organize daily activities and encourage physical activity to contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
