Opis:Zgodnje odločanje o karieri, ki ga dojemamo kot neprekinjen in dinamičen proces, je ključno za mlade na današnjem konkurenčnem trgu dela, česar se zavedajo tudi visokošolske inštitucije. Pomembno je, da se mlad diplomant zna soočiti z izzivi menjavanja zaposlitve in aktivno oblikovati svoj karierni razvoj. Vendar pa raziskave med mladimi razkrivajo številne probleme, s katerimi se soočajo mladi ob prehodu na trg dela, kot so na primer spoznavanje samega sebe, iskanje delovnih mest v skladu z njihovimi pričakovanji ter željami, iskanje zaposlitve, priprava življenjepisa ter priprava na zagovor in podobno. Prav tako se pojavljajo tudi problemi, kot so vse večje zahteve delodajalcev, kako lahko mladi pristopijo do njih, navežejo stik, se predstavijo, poudarijo svoje prednosti in veščine. Pomembno je, da so mladi seznanjeni z izzivi trga dela, da razvijejo kompetence načrtovanja in vodenja kariere. Menimo, da so izzivi prehoda na trg dela toliko večji ravno zaradi tega. Mladi poiščejo pomoč pri načrtovanju kariere ter dodatna izobraževanja šele ob vstopu na trg dela, namesto da bi to možnost izkoristili že v času študija ob pomoči kariernega centra ter kariernih svetovalcev. Zato je vloga karierne orientacije s tega vidika zelo pomembna. Karierna orientacija predstavlja ključni element, ki bi moral biti vključen v celoten proces izobraževanja, saj sistematično ter dosledno razvija njihove kompetence. Študentom nudi informacije in podporo za sprejemanje odločitev, izbiro poklicne poti ter načrtovanje kariere. Študenti, ki že med šolanjem izkoristijo možnosti karierne orientacije, so bolje pripravljeni na prehod na trg dela, kar vodi do bolj informiranih odločitev glede poklica in razvoja profesionalnih stikov. V diplomski nalogi smo med študenti fakultet članic Univerze v Novem mestu preučili stališča študentov do vključevanja v storitve kariernega centra in karierne orientacije ter njihovo aktivno vlogo pri načrtovanju kariere. Analizirali smo potrebe po visokokakovostni karierni orientaciji med študijem, ovrednotili načine izvajanja karierne orientacije ter poiskali tematska področja, na katerih študenti potrebujejo največ podpore. Raziskava je pokazala, da večina študentov pozna svoje karierne možnosti in ima oblikovane karierne cilje, vendar se pri njih pojavlja dvom oz. občutek negotovosti glede prihodnosti in vprašanje, ali bi morali poiskati pomoč pri načrtovanju kariere. Tako študenti ne poznajo v zadostni meri vseh storitev kariernega centra, pogosto pa njihove aktivnosti zaradi študijskih in drugih obveznosti dojemajo kot dodatno obveznost in ne kot priložnost za razvoj kariernih kompetenc in načrtovanje kariere.

Opis:Early career decision-making, perceived as a continuous and dynamic process, is crucial for young people in today’s competitive job market, a fact that higher education institutions are also aware of. It is important for a young graduate to be able to face the challenges of changing jobs and actively shape their career development. However, research among young people reveals numerous problems they encounter when transitioning to the labour market, such as self-awareness, finding jobs that align with their expectations and desires, job searching, resume preparation, interview preparation, and more. Additionally, issues arise such as the increasing demands of employers, how young people can approach them, make contact, present themselves, and highlight their strengths and skills. It is important for young people to be aware of the challenges of the labour market and to develop career planning and management skills. We believe that the challenger of transitioning to the labour market are even greater because of this. Young people seek career planning assistance and additional education only when they enter the labour market, instead of taking advantage of these opportunities during their studies with the help of career centres and career counsellors. Therefore, the role of career guidance is very important from this perspective. Career guidance represents a key element that should be integrated into the entire educational process, as it systematically and consistently develops students’ competencies. It provides students with information and support for decision-making, career path selection, and career planning. Students who take advantage of career guidance opportunities during their studies are better prepared for the transition to the labour market, leading to more informed decisions about their profession and the development of professional connections. In the thesis, we examined the attitudes of students from the faculties of the University of Novo mesto towards engaging with career centre services and career guidance, as well as their active role in career planning. We analysed the need for high-quality career guidance during their studies, evaluated the methods of delivering career guidance, and identified thematic areas where students require the most support. The research revealed that most students are aware of their career options and have set career goals, but they often experience doubt or a sense of uncertainty about the future and whether to seek help with career planning. Additionally, students are not sufficiently familiar with all the services offered by career centre, and often view its activities as an additional obligation due to their academic and other responsibilities, rather than an opportunity to develop career competencies and plan their career.
