Opis:Teoretična izhodišča: Kajenje je eden največjih javnozdravstvenih problemov, saj je vodilni preprečljivi vzrok prezgodnje umrljivosti in številnih kroničnih bolezni. Promocija zdravja na delovnem mestu spodbuja zdrav življenjski slog in opuščanje kajenja, še posebej v ustanovah, kot so domovi za ostarele, kjer so zaposleni pogosto izpostavljeni večjim obremenitvam. Namen raziskave je bil preučiti učinkovitost promocije zdravja na delovnem mestu pri opuščanju kajenja ter stališča zaposlenih o obstoječih strategijah in možnostih izboljšav. Metode: Raziskava temelji na kvantitativnem raziskovalnem pristopu in deskriptivni metodi dela. Primarni podatki so bili zbrani s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika, ki ga je izpolnilo 100 zaposlenih v domovih za ostarele. Sekundarni podatki so bili pridobljeni z analizo domače in tuje literature ter bibliografskih baz podatkov (Cobiss, PubMed, Google Učenjak). Podatki so bili obdelani s programom Microsoft Excel in predstavljeni v tabelah in grafih. Rezultati: Med anketiranimi zaposlenimi v domovih za ostarele jih 47 % (47) redno kadi, 9 % (9) občasno, medtem ko jih 44 % (44) ne. Skupno je 38 % (38) zaposlenih že poskušalo prenehati kaditi, pri čemer je bila polovica pri tem uspešna. Struktura vzorca po doseženi izobrazbi kaže, da je imela večina anketiranih srednješolsko izobrazbo (59 % (59)), sledijo visokošolsko oziroma univerzitetno izobraženi (26 % (26)), višješolsko oziroma višjo strokovno izobrazbo je imelo 10 % (10) sodelujočih, magisterij pa 4 % (4), medtem ko je osnovnošolsko izobrazbo navedel 1 % vprašanih. Rezultati raziskave kažejo, da zaposleni pozitivno vrednotijo pomen promocije zdravja pri izboljšanju delovne klime (AS = 3,73, SD = 1,09) in motivaciji (AS = 3,51, SD = 1,15), hkrati pa zaznavajo pomanjkanje konkretnih spodbud (AS = 1,99, SD = 0,99) ter strokovne podpore za opuščanje kajenja (AS = 2,06, SD = 1,10). Najvišje izraženo je bilo prepričanje, da bi prenehanje kajenja pomembno izboljšalo zdravje zaposlenih (AS = 4,02, SD = 1,13). Razprava: Rezultati raziskave potrjujejo, da zaposleni v domovih za ostarele prepoznavajo pomen promocije zdravja, vendar obstoječe aktivnosti niso dovolj usmerjene v podporo pri opuščanju kajenja. Največji manko je zaznan pri sistematičnih spodbudah, strokovni pomoči in dostopnih programih, kar omejuje učinkovitost ukrepov. Predlogi zaposlenih vključujejo več delavnic, ozaveščevalne aktivnosti, sistemske ukrepe (npr. podražitev cigaret, strožje omejitve) in individualno svetovanje. Raziskava poudarja potrebo po celostnem pristopu, ki združuje strokovno podporo, ozaveščanje in motivacijske spodbude za izboljšanje učinkovitosti promocije zdravja in zmanjšanje razširjenosti kajenja med zaposlenimi.

Opis:Theoretical background: Smoking is one of the leading public health problems and the most preventable cause of premature mortality and chronic diseases. Workplace health promotion plays a key role in encouraging healthy lifestyles and smoking cessation, especially in nursing homes, where employees are often exposed to high levels of stress and workload. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of workplace health promotion in smoking cessation and to explore employees’ attitudes toward existing strategies and potential improvements. Methods: The research was based on a quantitative research approach and a descriptive method. Primary data were collected using a survey questionnaire completed by 100 employees in nursing homes. Secondary data were obtained from the review of national and international literature and bibliographic databases (Cobiss, PubMed, Google Scholar). Data were processed with Microsoft Excel and presented in tables and graphs. Results: Among the surveyed employees in nursing homes, 47% reported smoking regularly, 9% occasionally, while 44% stated they do not smoke. A total of 38% had already attempted to quit, with half of them being successful. The educational structure of the sample shows that the majority of respondents had completed secondary education (59%), followed by those with higher or university education (26%), post-secondary or higher professional education (10%), and a master’s degree (4%), while 1% reported only primary education. The findings indicate that employees positively value the role of health promotion in improving the working climate (M = 3.73, SD = 1.09) and motivation (M = 3.51, SD = 1.15). At the same time, they perceive a lack of concrete incentives (M = 1.99, SD = 0.99) and professional support for smoking cessation (M = 2.06, SD = 1.10). The strongest agreement was expressed with the belief that quitting smoking would significantly improve employees’ health (M = 4.02, SD = 1.13). Discussion: The results confirm that employees in nursing homes recognize the importance of health promotion, yet the existing activities are not sufficiently targeted toward smoking cessation support. The greatest shortcomings are observed in systematic incentives, professional counseling, and accessible programs, which limit the effectiveness of current measures. Suggestions from employees include more workshops, awareness-raising activities, systemic measures (e.g., cigarette price increases, stricter restrictions), and individual counseling. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach that combines professional support, awareness, and motivational strategies to improve the effectiveness of health promotion and reduce the prevalence of smoking among employees.
