Title:Dark web
Abstract:The thesis deals with the different layers of the Internet, which extend from the surface web to deep and dark networks. Most users focus on the surface web, which is indexed by traditional search engines, while the dark web remains hidden and inaccessible without special software, configuration or authorization.Statistics on the dark web reveal more than 2.5 million daily active users and about 3,000 hidden sites, where involvement in illegal activities hovers around 60 %. The age structure of users shows that the majority are between 22 and 43 years old, with the purposes of using the dark web varying by country.Despite advantages such as anonymity and security of data exchange, the dark web bears the brunt of many illegal activities. The weakness stems from the anonymity of the service providers, which allows unhindered execution of criminal acts. The need to develop effective control mechanisms appears to be key to maintaining a secure online environment without jeopardizing the fundamental principles of freedom on the Internet.
