Title:POGLED STARŠEV NA MEDIJSKO PISMENOST OTROK V OSNOVNI ŠOLI

Abstract:Medijska pismenost je sposobnost kritičnega razumevanja, uporabe in ustvarjanja medijskih vsebin v najrazličnejših oblikah. V sodobnem svetu, kjer so otroci od malih nog izpostavljeni množičnim medijem, je ta veščina postala ključnega pomena za izobraževanje otrok in njihov razvoj. Pogled staršev na medijsko pismenost tako igra pomembno vlogo pri tem, saj se znanja in spretnosti pridobivajo tako doma v času primarne socializacije kot tudi kasneje v šoli. Kljub priznavanju pomena medijske pismenosti se starši soočajo s številnimi izzivi. Eden od glavnih izzivov, ki smo jih zaznali med našo kvalitativno analizo, je hitrost tehnološkega napredka, ki staršem pogosto onemogoča, da bi bili korak pred svojimi otroki v poznavanju novih medijskih trendov. Zraven tega jih skrbi pomanjkanje ustreznih izobraževalnih virov in programov, ki bi otroke sistematično učili medijske pismenosti. Starši imajo različen pogled in dojemanje medijske pismenosti od svojih otrok. Glavne razlike se kažejo predvsem glede na njihovo razumevanje medijev in izkušnje z mediji ter vrednotami v življenju. Medijska pismenost neposredno vpliva na otrokovo sposobnost kritičnega razumevanja in uporabe medijev, saj starši s svojim znanjem in zgledom usmerjajo otrokovo vedenje v medijih. Bolj kot so starši medijsko ozaveščeni, bolje lahko prek procesa socializacije in prenosa kulturnega kapitala pomagajo otrokom pri razvijanju veščin na področju medijev ter jih zaščitijo pred škodljivimi vsebinami. Pogledi staršev na medijsko pismenost otrok v osnovni šoli poudarjajo potrebo po celostnem pristopu k izobraževanju, ki vključuje tako sodelovanje med starši, učitelji in šolami. Starši tako priznavajo pomembnost medijske pismenosti za varno in informirano udeležbo njihovih otrok v sodobni družbi ter izražajo potrebo po večji podpori in izobraževanju na tem področju. Za dvig medijske pismenosti med celotnim prebivalstvom sta tako ključna vključevanje programov medijske vzgoje v šolski kurikulum ter organizacija neformalnega izobraževanja tako za otroke kot tudi odrasle. Pri tem sta pomembna tudi spodbujanje kritičnega mišljenja in uporaba zanesljivih virov informacij pri vsakodnevni rabi medijev.

Title:PARENTS' VIEW OF CHILDREN'S MEDIA LITERACY IN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Abstract:Media literacy is the ability to critically understand, use and create media content in a wide variety of forms. In today's world, where children are exposed to mass media from an early age, this skill has become essential for children's education and development. Parents' views on media literacy thus play an important role in this, as skills are acquired both at home during primary socialization and later in school. Despite the recognition of the importance of media literacy, parents face a number of challenges. One of the main challenges we identified during our qualitative analysis is the speed of technological progress, which often makes it impossible for parents to stay one step ahead of their children in learning about new media trends. In addition, they are concerned about the lack of adequate educational resources and programmes to systematically teach children media literacy. Parents have different views and perceptions of their children's media literacy. The main differences are mainly in their understanding of media and experience with them and values in life. Media literacy has a direct impact on a child's ability to critically understand and use media, as parents use their knowledge and example to guide a child's media behaviour. The more media aware parents are, the better they can help children develop media skills and protect them from harmful content through the process of socialization and transfer of cultural capital. Parents' views on children's media literacy in primary school emphasize the need for a holistic approach to education, which includes such cooperation between parents, teachers and schools. Parents thus recognise the importance of media literacy for the safe and informed participation of their children in modern society and express the need for greater support and education in this area. In order to increase media literacy among the population as a whole, it is crucial to integrate media literacy programmes into the school curriculum and to organise non-formal education for both children and adults. The promotion of critical thinking and the use of reliable sources of information in everyday media use are also important.
