Zbrani in analizirani so bili primarni in sekundarni viri.

Title:NEWBORN CARE AND THE ROLE OF THE PATRONAGE NURSE
Abstract:A newborn is a child from birth to the age of 28 days. Newborns represent the most vulnerable age group and they are the most susceptible to illnesses and injuries. They are not able to care for themselves, and must therefore be taken care of by their parents and medical staff. The caretakers must meet the needs of the newborn child, and provide the safest possible environment in order for the newborn to develop. The life of a newborn is full of challenges and insights both for the child itself and for the parents, who assume responsibility for taking care of the baby after being discharged from the hospital. However, after being discharged from the hospital, the family can get help from various sources; a patronage nurse can offer support for the new family by helping to care for the baby. The purpose of this research paper is to explore the caretaking of a newborn at home and the role of the patronage nurse. The research is of quantitative nature. Primary and secondary sources were collected and analyzed. Primary data were obtained through a survey. The obtained data were digitalized with Microsoft Excel and through a 1ka-website with which the survey was made. 104 mothers who gave birth between 2014 and 2024 took part in the survey. The research found that mothers had the most problems with breastfeeding when caring for a newborn at home, specifically by attaching the newborn to the breast. The second biggest problem was the care for the newborn's navel. The patronage nurse successfully helped the majority of those who had problems with breastfeeding. In most cases, mothers were very satisfied with the care of their newborns at home by the patronage nurse.
