Title:MEDIJSKA VZGOJA V SLOVENIJI Z VIDIKA STARŠEV IN MLADIH

Abstract:Medijska vzgoja obsega pridobivanje in razvoj raznovrstnih medijskih znanj in kompetenc, kot so sposobnosti dostopa, analize in evalvacije, ustvarjanja, refleksije ter ukrepanja. Te so zaradi širjenja in razvoja medijskih in predvsem digitalnih vsebin nepogrešljive, potreba po ustreznem izobraževanju na to temo zato narašča in zadeva družbo v celoti. V nalogi Medijska vzgoja v Sloveniji z vidika staršev osnovnošolcev in mladih preučujemo izbrani fenomen na domačih tleh z vidika staršev osnovnošolcev in mladih. Prvi del sestavljajo pojmovno-teoretična izhodišča, temelječa na obsežni strokovni in znanstveni literaturi, medtem ko v empiričnem delu izhajamo iz filozofskega ozadja pragmatizma, uporabljamo mešane metode in operiramo z izbranimi sekundarnimi podatki treh predhodnih raziskav. Končne ugotovitve so času primerne in celostne, saj združujejo tako meritve realnosti, ki jo je moč opazovati in posplošiti, kot tudi opise bolj poglobljenega razumevanja medijske vzgoje. Najprej potrdimo predpostavljene dejavnike, ki vplivajo na razvoj medijskih spretnosti in navad, nato razkrijemo nove. Ob tem na podlagi zaznave velikega neskladja na nekaterih ravneh medijske in digitalne pismenosti med današnjimi odraščajočimi, starejšimi in celo generacijami izpred desetih let, vztrajno opozarjamo na nujo po posodobitvi učnih načrtov ter implementaciji aktualnejših in ustreznejših metod in vsebin na tem področju. Sočasno osvetlimo še problematiko odnosa institucij do medijskih naprav in neusklajenih šolskih pravilnikov ter odraslih, katerih lastne medijske navade so včasih problematične, edukacijske prakse pa nezadostne. Delo v obliki obsežnega, kakovostnega ter aktualnega popisa stanja in trendov preučevanega fenomena tako predstavlja pomemben prispevek k znanosti ter priložnost za optimizacijo procesov medijske vzgoje in s tem povečanje medijske pismenosti slovenskih državljanov v prihodnosti.

Title:MEDIA EDUCATION IN SLOVENIA FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF PARENTS AND YOUTH
Abstract:Media education includes the acquisition and development of a wide range of media skills and competencies, such as the abilities to access, analyze, and evaluate, create, reflect, and act. These are indispensable due to the proliferation and development of media and, in particular, digital content. The need for adequate education in this field is growing and concerns society as a whole. In the thesis Media education in Slovenia from the perspective of parents and youth, we examine a selected phenomenon on national level from the point of view of primary school pupils' parents and young people. The first part consists of a conceptual-theoretical background based on extensive professional and scientific literature; the empirical part is based on the philosophical background of pragmatism, using mixed methods and selected secondary data from three previous studies. The final findings are time-appropriate and holistic, combining both measures of reality that can be observed and generalized, and descriptions of a more in-depth understanding of media education. First we identify the factors assumed to influence the development of media skills and habits and then reveal new ones. Based on the perception of a large discrepancy in certain levels of media and digital literacy between today's adolescents, older peolpe and the generations of ten years ago, we persistently draw attention to the need to update curricula and implement more up-to-date and relevant methods and content. Moreover, we highlight the problem of institutional attitudes towards media devices and inconsistent school policies, problematic media patterns of adults and inadequate teaching practices. This work, in the form of a comprehensive, qualitative, and up-to-date inventory of the situation and trends of the researched phenomenon, is therefore an important contribution to science and an opportunity for optimizing media education processes and thus increasing media literacy of Slovenian citizens in the future.
