Uporabili smo kvalitativno raziskovalno metodo z opisnim pritopom. Na osnovi pregleda tuje ter domače literature in podatkovnih baz COBISS, PubMed, Google Sholar in dLib smo oblikovali polstruktruriran intervju. Pri zbiranju in obdelavi podatkov smo upoštevali etična načela raziskovanja. V raziskavo smo vključili pet medicinskih sester in enega zdravstvenega tehnika z najmanj enoletnimi izkušnjami pri obravnavi bolnikov z mišično distrofijo. Pridobljene rezultate smo analizirali kvantitativno, odgovore prikazali v tabele, jih kodirali in interpretirali. Intervjuvanci zaznajo najpogostejše zaplete pri dolgotrajni rehabilitacijski negi pacienta z mišično distrofijo in poznajo ustrezne preventivne intervencije. Seznanjeni so z metodami ocenjevanja zdravstvenega stanja in najpogostejšimi aktivnostmi v okviru rehabilitacijske nege.

Title:MANAGEMENT OF THE MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY PATIENT
Abstract:Muscular dystrophy is an incurable disease marked by progressive muscle degeneration, with muscle tissue gradually replaced by fat and connective tissue, eventually leading to partial or complete paralysis. Treatment is symptomatic. Patients require support from family, personal assistants, or institutional care. The aim of the study was to examine patient care, focusing on how nurses assess needs, the challenges they encounter, common complications in long-term care, and typical nursing activities. We used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Based on a review of relevant literature and databases (COBISS, PubMed, Google Scholar, dLib), we prepared questions for a semi-structured interview. Ethical principles were followed throughout. The study included six healthcare professionals with at least one year of experience in caring for patients with muscular dystrophy. Data were analysed quantitatively, organized into tables, coded, and interpreted. The interviewees recognize the most common complications in the long-term rehabilitative care of patients with muscular dystrophy and are familiar with appropriate preventive interventions. They are also acquainted with methods for assessing patients’ health status and with the most frequent nursing activities in rehabilitation care.
Keywords:muscular dystrophy, nurse, rehabilitation.
