Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo proučevali vpliv bosonoge obutve na aktivacijo mišic in funkcionalnost stopala.

Title:The effect of barefoot footwear on the foot
Abstract:In the thesis, we examined the impact of barefoot footwear on muscle activation and foot functionality. We wanted to find out whether the use of barefoot footwear increases foot muscle activation and improves their functionality. The purpose and objectives of the thesis were to analyze existing researches on this topic and to investigate the positive and negative effects of barefoot footwear. Identifying the positive effects of barefoor footwear and the potential risks associated with its use was key to the research question. The hypothesis was that there is a reliable scientific evidence that barefoor footwear increases foot muscle activation and improves foot functionality. The literature review included ten studies selected based on their quality and relevance to the criteria. The studies showed mixed results, but most confirmed the positive effects of barefoot footwear on muscle activation, strength, and foot functionality. Research by Fuller et al. (2017) and Ryan et al. (2013) noted an increased risk of injury associated with this type of footwear, particularly in individuals with higher body mass or intense training. The greatest injury risks were found in the shin muscles. Based on the literature review, we conclude that barefoot footwear can improve foot functionality and strength, but caution is necessary when using it. Gradual introduction and adjustment to individual needs are crucial for reducing injury risk. The findings of this research may contribute to the development of physiotherapeutic approaches and to the safer and more effective use of barefoor footwear in rehabilitation and sports. For the profession, the key contributions include a better understanding of the effects of barefoot footwear on the foot, which may allow improved advice and planning of therapeutic programs. Further research is needed to gain a more detailed understanding of long-term effects and to optimize the use of barefoot footwear across different age groups, physical conditions, and lifestyles.
