Title:Vpliv fizioterapije na preprečevanje padcev in izboljšanje ravnotežja pri starejših odraslih : pregled literature

Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Padci predstavljajo enega najpogostejših vzrokov za poškodbe, zmanjšano funkcionalnost in poslabšano kakovost življenja pri starejših odraslih. Zaradi prepleta različnih dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na nastanek padcev, je ključno razumeti, kateri fizioterapevtski pristopi so najučinkovitejši pri njihovem preprečevanju ter pri izboljševanju ravnotežja in telesne stabilnosti. Metode: Diplomsko delo temelji na sistematičnem pregledu 19 znanstvenih raziskav, izbranih iz obdobja med letoma 2014 in 2024, ki so preučevale vpliv različnih vadbenih intervencij na preprečevanje padcev pri starejših. Vključevale so tradicionalno vadbo za moč in ravnotežje, vadbo z nepričakovanimi motnjami ter vadbo v virtualnem okolju. Analiza je temeljila na primerjavi ugotovitev in raziskovalnih pristopov izbranih študij, s poudarkom na njihovih rezultatih, velikosti vzorcev, dolžini intervencij ter uporabljenih metodah ocenjevanja. Rezultati: Ugotovljeno je bilo, da so kombinirane vadbene intervencije, ki vključujejo tako krepitev mišične moči kot tudi vaje za ravnotežje, najučinkovitejše pri zmanjševanju pogostosti padcev. Vadba z nepredvidljivimi motnjami je pokazala pozitivne učinke na reaktivno ravnotežje, medtem ko vadba v virtualni resničnosti dodatno vpliva na senzomotorične sposobnosti in motivacijo. Poudarjena je bila tudi pomembnost individualno prilagojenih programov vadbe. Razprava: Rezultati potrjujejo pomen celostnega, interdisciplinarnega pristopa, ki vključuje fizioterapevtske, psihološke, socialne in okoljske dejavnike. Nadaljnje raziskave bi morale obravnavati dolgoročne učinke intervencij in razvijati prilagodljive modele vadbe, ki bi vključevali sodobne tehnologije ter bili dostopni tako v kliničnem kot domačem okolju.

Abstract:Theoretical background: Falls are one of the most common causes of injury, reduced functionality, and diminished quality of life in older adults. Due to the complex interaction of various contributing factors, it is essential to understand which physiotherapeutic approaches are most effective in fall prevention and in improving balance and physical stability. Methods: This thesis is based on a literature review of 19 scientific studies published between 2014 and 2024, examining the effects of various exercise interventions on reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. The included studies addressed traditional strength and balance training, perturbation-based training, and virtual reality exercise. The analysis focused on comparing findings and methodological characteristics, with attention given to outcomes, sample sizes, duration of interventions, and evaluation methods. Results: Combined exercise interventions that include both muscle strengthening and balance training were found to be the most effective in reducing the frequency of falls. Perturbation based exercises showed positive effects on reactive balance, while virtual reality training further enhanced sensorimotor abilities and motivation. The importance of individually tailored exercise programs was also emphasized. Discussion: The findings highlight the importance of a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach involving physiotherapy, psychology, social support, and environmental factors. Future research should address the long-term effects of interventions and focus on developing adaptable training models that incorporate modern technologies and are accessible both in clinical settings and for home-based use.
