Abstract:V diplomski nalogi z naslovom »Vojna za talente« – iskanje in privabljanje sodelavcev raziskujemo, kako slovenski odbojkarski klubi pristopajo k iskanju, privabljanju in ohranjanju talentiranih športnikov. Osredotočamo se na razumevanje ključnih dejavnikov, ki vplivajo na odločitev športnikov za vstop v določen klub, s posebnim poudarkom na pomenu klubskega ugleda, kakovosti trenažnih pogojev, strokovni podpori in možnostih za športni ter osebni napredek. V teoretičnem delu naloge opredelimo pojem talenta v športu ter predstavimo strategije identifikacije, selekcije in razvoja talentov. Poseben poudarek namenimo vlogi dolgoročne vizije klubov za uspešno upravljanje s človeškimi viri. Empirični del temelji na kombinaciji kvantitativne in kvalitativne raziskave. Podatke smo zbrali z anketo, ki jo je izpolnilo 89 aktivnih športnikov, ter izvedli smo osem poglobljenih intervjujev s športnimi direktorji oziroma osebami, odgovornimi za kadrovske odločitve v slovenskih odbojkarskih klubih. Rezultati kažejo, da se klubi zavedajo pomena sistematičnega in celostnega pristopa k delu s športnimi talenti, a se prakse med klubi precej razlikujejo. Igralci kot ključna dejavnika pri odločanju najpogosteje izpostavljajo ugled kluba in kakovost trenažnih pogojev, pomembno vlogo pa imajo tudi strokovni kader, klubska kultura in komunikacija. Raziskava opozarja na potrebo po večji profesionalizaciji kadrovskih strategij, izboljšanju notranjih procesov ter boljši izrabi komunikacijskih in promocijskih kanalov. Na podlagi analize podamo predloge za izboljšanje strategij iskanja in ohranjanja talentov, ki temeljijo na empiričnih ugotovitvah ter vključujejo razvoj dolgoročnih kadrovskih načrtov, krepitev podpornih storitev za športnike ter večjo profesionalizacijo organizacijskega delovanja klubov.

Title:»THE WAR FOR TALENT« – FINDING AND ATTRACTING EMPLOYEES
Abstract:In the diploma thesis titled The War for Talent – Approaches to Attracting and Retaining Athletes, we examine how Slovenian volleyball clubs approach the recruitment, attraction, and retention of talented athletes. We focus on identifying key factors that influence athletes' decisions to join a particular club, with special emphasis on the importance of club reputation, quality of training conditions, professional support, and opportunities for both athletic and personal development. In the theoretical part of the thesis, we define the concept of talent in sports and present strategies for identifying, selecting, and developing talent. Particular attention is given to the role of long-term club vision in effective human resource management. The empirical part is based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. Data were collected through a survey completed by 89 active athletes and through eight in-depth interviews with sports directors or individuals responsible for recruitment decisions in Slovenian volleyball clubs. The results show that clubs are increasingly aware of the importance of a systematic and holistic approach to talent management, although practices vary significantly across clubs. Players most frequently cite club reputation and the quality of training conditions as key decision-making factors. The role of coaching staff, club culture, and communication is also emphasized. The research highlights the need for greater professionalization of recruitment strategies, improved internal processes, and more effective use of communication and promotional channels. Based on the analysis, we provide recommendations for improving talent acquisition and retention strategies, which include the development of long-term HR plans, strengthening support services for athletes, and enhancing the overall professionalization of club operations.
