Abstract:Okužbe v zdravstvu, povezane z urinskimi katetri, so zelo pogoste, predvsem v bolnišnicah in domovih za starejše občane.

Title:PREVENTING NOSOCOMIAL INFECTIONS IN PATIENTS WITH URINARY CATHETERS
Abstract:Healthcare-associated infections linked to urinary catheters are very common, especially in hospitals and care homes for the elderly. Healthcare workers often encounter patients with urinary catheters. Therefore, knowledge of aseptic technique of urinary catheter insertion, correct handling of the urinary catheter and maintenance of the urinary catheter is a very important factor to prevent nosocomial infections in patients with urinary catheters. To prevent as many hospital-acquired infections as possible, nurse knowledge and regular education are essential. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevention of nosocomial infections in urinary catheter patients. At the same time, we wanted to find out which measures are most important to prevent hospital-acquired infections, to explore the role of the nurse and to investigate the most important risk factors for hospital-acquired infections.
Keywords:hospital-acquired infections, urinary tract infections, urinary catheter infections
