Z ugotovitvami naše raziskave smo fizioterapevtom omogočili izbiro primernega pristopa k kakovostni obravnavi ploskega stopala.

Abstract:Flatfoot represents a deformity of the foot complex, primarily characterized by the flattening or lowering of the medial longitudinal arch (hereinafter referred to as MLA). The etiology of deformation is broad, the condition can be either congenital or acquired. It may present in a flexible or rigid form. Treatment options are available within both conservative and surgical frameworks. With high-quality, well-planned, and evidence-based conservative treatment of flat feet, the need for surgical intervention can be avoided. For this reason, we were interested in physiotherapeutic methods and techniques that are evidenced the most effective in the treatment of flatfoot in the adult population. The aim of the thesis is to examine physiotherapeutic methods and techniques and their effects on flatfoot, in order to determine which have been most effective in improving the condition of flatfoot in adults. The research was conducted using freely accessible databases, through which we selected 11 relevant and high-quality studies that were included in the study. We reviewed and compared selected studies, highlighting physiotherapeutic methods and techniques that have proven to be the most effective in the treatment of flatfoot in the adult population. Based on the reviewed literature, it can be concluded that the management of flatfoot requires a structured and carefully planned physiotherapeutic approach. In cases of symptomatic flatfoot, myofascial release techniques can be effective in reducing pain. The main therapeutic options also comprise kinesiotherapy, the application of kinesiology or rigid tape, and the use of various orthoses. Correct and consistent implementation of these interventions is crucial, as it helps to prevent the progression of the condition. The findings of our research provide physiotherapists with guidance in selecting an appropriate approach to ensure high-quality management of flatfoot.
