Title:Vloga medicinske sestre pri duhovni podporo in oskrbi bolnika ter bližnjih v paliativni zdravstveni negi

Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Paliativna oskrba predstavlja pomemben del zdravstvenega sistema, namenjena je bolnikom z napredovalimi oziroma neozdravljivimi boleznimi ter njihovim svojcem. Temelji na celostni obravnavi, ki poleg fizičnim priznava velik pomen tudi psihičnim, duhovnim in socialnim potrebam. V tem smislu se duhovnost razume kot osebna raven posameznika, ki se izkazuje z vero, prepričanji, vrednotami in iskanjem življenjskega smisla. Medicinske sestre imajo zelo pomembno vlogo pri prepoznavanju teh potreb, saj z bolnikom preživijo največ časa in ga spremljajo skozi različna obdobja bolezni. Namen diplomske naloge je bil raziskati vlogo medicinske sestre pri prepoznavanju in zadovoljevanju duhovnih potreb bolnika v paliativni oskrbi in njegovih svojcev ter ugotoviti, s kakšnimi izzivi se ob tem srečujejo. Metode: Uporabljen je bil kvalitativni raziskovalni pristop z deskriptivno metodo. Primarne podatke smo pridobili z intervjuvanjem medicinskih sester, ki delajo na internem oddelku in se pogosto srečujejo s paliativnimi pacienti. Sekundarne podatke smo črpali iz strokovne in znanstvene literature ter podatkovnih baz (PubMed, Google učenjak). Rezultati: Ugotovitve kažejo, da medicinske sestre duhovno oskrbo razumejo kot enakovredno telesni in psihološki podpori, vendar jim velikokrat primanjkuje znanja in časa za zadostno prepoznavanje ter presojo duhovnih potreb pacienta. Kljub izzivom se zavedajo svoje odgovornosti pri prepoznavi ter obravnavi duhovnih potreb. Rezultati raziskave prispevajo k boljšemu razumevanju vloge medicinske sestre na tem področju in kažejo potrebo po dodatnem izobraževanju in pridobivanju kompetenc. Razprava: Raziskava ponuja vpogled v izkušnje medicinskih sester pri duhovni podpori v paliativni oskrbi. Kljub različnim izzivom skušajo bolnikom in njihovim svojcem nuditi celostno obravnavo. Raziskava je pokazala, da je duhovna oskrba bistvena za izboljšanje kakovosti življenja in podporo bolnika ter svojcev v zadnjem življenjskem obdobju ter v procesu žalovanja. Jasno se je izkazala potreba po dodatnem izobraževanju in pridobivanju kompetenc medicinskih sester na področju duhovne oskrbe, da bi bila ta lahko bolj kontinuirano vključena v prakso.

Title:The role of the nurse in spiritual support and care of the patient and loved ones in palliative care
Abstract:Theoretical background: palliative care represents an important part of the healthcare system, intended for patients with advanced and life-limiting illnesses as well as their relatives. It's foundation lies in holistic care, which, in additions to physical needs, places great importance on psyhological, spiritual, and social needs. In this context, spirituality is understood as the personal dimension of the individual, expressed through faith, beliefs, values and the search fort he meaning in life. Nurses play a very important role in recognizing these needs as they spend the most time with patients and accompany themthrough different stages of illness. The purpose of the thesis was to explore the role od of nurses in recognizing and providing for the spiritual needs of patients and their relatives in palliative care, as well as the callenges they face. Methods: A qualitative research approach with a descriptive method was used. Primary data were collected through interviews with nurses working in the internal medicine department who grequently encounter palliative care. Secondary data were drawn from professional and scientific literature and databases (PubMed, Google Scholar). Results: The findings show that nurses understand spiritual care as equal to physical and psychological support, however they ofthen lack knowledge and time for sufficient recognition and assessment of spiritual needs. Despite these challenges, they are aware of their responsibility and the important od they play in identifying and addressin spiritual needs. The results contribute to a better understanding of the nurse's role in the process and highlight the need for further education and the asquisition od competencies. Discussion: The results of the study provide insight into nurses experiences in delivering spiritual support in palliative care. Despite various callenges, they strive to provide holistic catr to patiens and their relatives. The study revealed that spiritual care is of crucual importance for improving the qualitiy of life and supporting patients and theis families in the final stage od life and in te grieving process. The results also demonstrated the needs for nurses to receive additional training and develop competencies in the field od spiritual care, as this would enable more consistent integration into practice.
