Abstract:V diplomskem delu smo obravnavali uporabnost pliometrične vadbe v fizioterapevtski obravnavi.

Title:The usability of plyometric exercises in physiotherapy
Abstract:In this thesis, we addressed the usefulness of plyometric training in physiotherapeutic treatment. The aim of the thesis was to review the literature on the usefulness of plyometric training in physiotherapeutic practice. The objective of the thesis was to compile recommendations regarding the use of plyometric training in physiotherapy. We also set a hypothesis, stating that plyometric training is a useful method in physiotherapeutic practice. Through the literature review, we confirmed the hypothesis that plyometric training is an effective and beneficial method in physiotherapy, as it positively impacts the development of muscle strength, coordination, balance, and functional performance of individuals. Plyometric training should be introduced gradually, starting with exercises for stabilization and balance, followed by dynamic and explosive movements, with intensity adjusted to the individual’s physical condition and rehabilitation stage. Proper technique and professional supervision are essential to ensure safe execution and minimize the risk of injury, especially during jumps and landings. When planning the exercises, individual characteristics such as age, body weight, and injury level must be considered, with high-intensity exercises being unsuitable for children under 16 years old and requiring special caution in individuals with obesity. Plyometric exercises are effective in rehabilitating knee and ankle ligament injuries, as they improve joint stabilization and reduce the risk of re- injury. Additionally, they contribute to injury prevention by improving muscle strength, proprioception, and coordination. They also enhance balance and joint stabilization speed, which is particularly important for older individuals, as they reduce the risk of falls. Regular inclusion of these exercises in rehabilitation programs improves functional mobility, reduces the risk of injuries, and significantly contributes to a higher quality of life. In the future, it would be beneficial to conduct more research on plyometric training, as the literature on this topic is limited, making it challenging to establish clear guidelines.
