Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Parkinsonova bolezen je najpogostejša nevrodegenerativna motnja gibanja, ki jo spremljajo številni motorični in nemotorični simptomi.

Abstract:Theoretical Background: Parkinson’s disease is the most common neurodegenerative movement disorder, accompanied by numerous motor and non-motor symptoms. As there is currently no cure for this disease and existing treatments mainly focus on alleviating symptoms, various conservative approaches to managing this patient population have emerged alongside physiotherapy. One such approach is rhythmic auditory stimulation, which, through its influence on the auditory center, activates motor neurons and thereby contributes to the synchronization of body movement. Method: This thesis employs a qualitative systematic analysis. In the theoretical part, existing literature was reviewed using description, comparison, and compilation methods. In the empirical part, the impact and effectiveness of rhythmic auditory stimulation in patients with Parkinson’s disease were examined through analytical induction as well as analysis and synthesis of research studies. The included studies were evaluated using the PEDro scale, and data were collected and presented using the PRISMA diagram. Results: Findings indicate positive effects of rhythmic auditory stimulation in patients with Parkinson’s disease. It significantly improves gait quality, increases step length and walking speed, and reduces the occurrence of freezing episodes during walking. Positive effects were also observed in terms of balance and basic motor functions. Discussion: Rhythmic auditory stimulation represents a promising rehabilitation method for patients with Parkinson’s disease. It has been proven to improve gait and balance and reduce movement disorders. These findings support the inclusion of this approach in routine clinical practice for managing patients with Parkinson’s disease. It is recommended to use RAS in combination with other therapeutic approaches and to tailor interventions to the individual’s needs, while also implementing a standardized treatment protocol.
