Abstract:V pričujoči magistrski nalogi smo raziskovali korelacijo med suicidalnostjo in stili navezanosti v odrasli dobi. V prvem delu magistrske naloge smo teoretično sintetizirali in opisali teorijo navezanosti, stile navezanosti v odrasli dobi, povezavo stilov navezanosti s psihopatologijo in psihoterapevtsko obravnavo posameznikov v okviru teorije o stilih navezanosti. Nadalje smo naredili pregled suicidalnosti, opisali suicidalne misli in ideacije, samopoškodbeno vedenje z namenom končanja svojega življenja, suicidalno vedenje, povezali suicidalnost s psihopatologijo in obravnavo suicidalnih posameznikov v sklopu psihoterapevtske obravnave. V empiričnem delu smo s pomočjo kvalitativne analize opravili intervjuje z osmimi psihoterapevtkami, ki delujejo v okviru svoje zasebne psihoterapevtske prakse. Ugotovili smo kako pomembno vlogo igra vzpostavitev varnega psihoterapevtskega odnosa in vzajemnega zaupanja v terapevtskem prostoru. Skupaj z uporabo psihoterapevtskih tehnik (kognitivno vedenjske tehnike ali tehnike drugih psihoterapevtskih pristopov) predstavljata pomemben doprinos k uspešnemu znižanju suicidalnih tendenc, izboljšanju vsesplošnega počutja in nenazadnje doseganja zastavljenih psihoterapevtskih ciljev.

Title:Suicidality through the prism of attachment styles in adulthood from the perspective of psychotherapeutic approach
Abstract:In the present master’s thesis, we investigated the correlation between suicidality and attachment styles in adulthood. We were mainly interested in the psychotherapeutic aspect of treating clients within the mentioned areas, as the topic of suicide is still taboo today and difficult for individuals to talk about such tendencies. At the same time, knowledge of attachment theory can provide an important framework for treating clients with an insecure attachment style and suicidal tendencies. The first part of the master's thesis theoretically synthesizes and describes attachment theory; attachment styles in adulthood; the correlation between attachment styles and psychopathology; and the psychotherapeutic treatment of individuals within the context of attachment theory. It continues with a review of suicidal behaviour; describes suicidal thoughts and ideations, self-harming behaviour with the intention of ending one's life, and suicidal behaviour; correlates suicidal behaviour with psychopathology and the care of suicidal individuals during psychotherapeutic treatment. In the empirical section, we used the qualitative analysis and conducted interviews with eight psychotherapists who work in private psychotherapeutic practice. Participating psychotherapists use attachment theory within their work and have treated insecurely attached clients with suicidal tendencies. The interviews conducted, enabled us to answer the research questions regarding the interaction between attachments styles in adulthood and suicidal behaviour from the perspective of psychotherapeutic approach. One of the important findings is the essentiality of safe relationship and mutual trust established withing the therapeutic setting. Combined with the use of psychotherapeutic techniques (CBT or techniques of other approaches), they represent an important contribution to successful reduction of suicidal tendencies, improvement of one's general well-being, and reaching the psychotherapeutic goals.
