Abstract:
Iskanje raziskav je potekalo v iskalnikih Google Scholar, ScienceDirect in PubMed, v knjižnici Zdravstvene fakultete in Medicinske fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani.

Title:
Physiotherapy procedures for ankle sprain
Abstract:
Introduction and objective: The ankle is one of the most commonly damaged joints. In most cases a lateral ankle sprain occurs, medial and syndesmotic sprains occur less often. Ankle injury is a very common problem for athletes and other populations alike. Given the frequency of injury, this represents a major economic cost in the healthcare industry. Methods: The diploma thesis examined and compared research that was allready performed. The research was conducted online (Google Scolar, ScienceDirect and PubMed), in the library of the Faculty of Medicine and in the library of the Health Faculty in University of Ljubljana. Results: On the basis of the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 48 studies were selected for detailed examination to investigate physiotherapy procedures of ankle sprain. Usability: Educating physiotherapists with new guidelines for better and more focused physiotherapy treatment, relieving the medical profession and reducing the cost of treatment for primary, secondary ankle injuries and reducing the number of delayed complications due to improper rehabilitation. Limitations: We focused on ligamentous injuries, so we did not review research that focused on muscle damage. We also excluded chronic ankle sprain problems.
