Abstract:
To smo storili s povzemanjem tuje in domače literature.

Title:
Physiotherapy treatment of urinary incontinence in men and women
Abstract:
Introduction and purpose: the purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to assess the effect of physical therapy in men and women with urinary incontinence, a health concern, which is increasing in incidence. By performing a literature review, we aim to acquire a profound understanding of urinary incontinence and possible differences in treatment between male and female patients. Methods: a descriptive method was used to analyze the literature based on which our working hypotheses were examined. Slovene as well as foreign literature was reviewed. We used the PubMed database, Google Scholar as well as websites dedicated to urinary incontinence. Results: our literature review showed that strengthening pelvic floor muscles is the best conservative and preventative treatment to delay the onset of stress urinary incontinence. In addition, research shows that urinary incontinence incidence rate increases with age. Usability: to display the various methods of how physical therapy can be used to treat patients with urinary incontinence. Limitations: in writing this bachelor’s work, we were limited by vague articles, paid articles and the inaccessibility of parts of articles or of whole reviews.
