Abstract:V diplomski nalogi najprej opišemo pomembne koncepte in raziskave, ki potrjujejo resnost posledic, ki jih povzroča stres.

Title:THE CAUSES OF PARENTAL STRESS AND THE NEED FOR PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT IN COPING WITH IT
Abstract:In the thesis, we first describe important concepts and research that confirm the severity of the consequences caused by stress. Below we present in more detail one type of stress, namely parental stress, which occurs when parents interact with a child. The thesis aims to identify the most common causes of parental stress, including dissatisfaction with family relationships, children's disregard for boundaries, inappropriate behavior and raising the child. By identifying the causes of problems, we can look for the most appropriate solutions. Often, people first resort to forms of self-help when the level of stress is low and manageable. The most common forms of self-help for parental stress are communication with loved ones and reading professional literature to find relevant information. When self-help is no longer enough to cope successfully with parenting stress, it is crucial to focus on seeking professional help to prevent symptoms from developing into more serious medical conditions. Professional support includes individual and group counseling as well as adult education. Using a scale measuring stress levels, we found that the average stress level experienced is low but present nonetheless. According to the current findings, the need for professional assistance is not high, but we note that if professional help were needed, it would be very difficult to access.
