Title:Kognitivne motnje zdravstvenih delavcev pri dolgotrajnem delu v nočnih izmenah

Abstract:Izhodišča: Dolgotrajno delo v nočnih izmenah predstavlja pomemben izziv za zdravstvene delavce, saj lahko povzroči resne kognitivne motnje. Zaradi spremembe naravnega cirkadianega ritma je moten spanec, kar vodi do povečane utrujenosti in zmanjšane koncentracije. Kronično pomanjkanje spanja lahko negativno vpliva na delovni spomin, sposobnost reševanja problemov in odločanja. Zmanjšana pozornost in povečana stopnja napak lahko ogrozita varnost pacientov in učinkovitost zdravstvene oskrbe. Dolgotrajna izpostavljenost nočnemu delu lahko prispeva tudi k razvoju duševnih bolezni, kot so depresija in anksioznost. Za obvladovanje teh težav je pomembno uvajanje strategij za izboljšanje higiene spanja in zmanjšanje stresa na delovnem mestu. Raziskave in intervencije na področju zdravja pri delu so ključnega pomena za zmanjšanje negativnih posledic nočnega dela za zdravstvene delavce. Namen raziskave je preučiti kognitivne motnje zdravstvenih delavcev pri dolgotrajnem delu v nočnih izmenah. Metode: Uporabili smo kvalitativni raziskovalni pristop in deskriptivno metodo dela. Na podlagi predhodnega pregleda domače in tuje znanstvene oziroma strokovne literature ter mednarodnih podatkovnih baz Cobiss, Google Učenjak, Medline, dLib in PubMed smo pripravili vprašanja za polstrukturirani intervju. V vseh fazah zbiranja in obdelave podatkov smo upoštevali etična načela raziskovanja. Pridobljene podatke smo analizirali, odgovore intervjuvancev smo razvrstili v tabele, podatke pa v posamezne kode in jih interpretirali. Rezultati: V raziskavi so sodelovali zdravstveni delavci, ki imajo minimalno eno leto delovnih izkušenj dela v nočnih izmenah. Ugotovili smo, da se zdravstveno osebje zaveda, da nočno delo negativno vpliva na kakovost spanja zdravstvenih delavcev, kar se kaže v krajšem trajanju spanja, pogostejših prebujanjih in slabši kakovosti spanja. Povezanost nočnega dela z ravnjo stresa je bila očitna, saj so zdravstveni delavci poročali o povečani razdražljivosti, anksioznosti in utrujenosti. Poleg tega so zdravstveni delavci med nočnimi izmenami doživljali zmanjšano delovno učinkovitost, slabšo zbranost in več napak pri delu. Razprava: Ugotovili smo, da nočno delo zdravstvenih delavcev bistveno vpliva na njihovo kakovost spanja, raven stresa in delovno učinkovitost. Intervjuvanci so poročali o slabši kakovosti spanja, pogostih prebujanjih in krajšem trajanju spanja po nočnih izmenah, kar vodi do povečane utrujenosti in stresa. Večina zdravstvenih delavcev doživlja več psiholoških težav, kot so razdražljivost in anksioznost, kar je povezano z motnjami cirkadianih ritmov. Dolgotrajno delo v nočnih izmenah lahko povzroči kognitivne motnje, pri čemer so intervjuvanci izpostavili, da se te težave povečujejo z večjim številom zaporednih nočnih izmen. Raziskava je pokazala, da morajo zdravstveni delavci delati več kot pet let v nočnih izmenah, da se začnejo pojavljati resne kognitivne motnje, čeprav se lahko posamezniki razlikujejo glede na prilagodljivost in načine obvladovanja stresa. Na koncu, strategije, kot so pitje kave in kratki dremeži, lahko pomagajo ohranjati budnost in zmanjšati vpliv nočnih izmen, vendar dolgoročne rešitve zahtevajo boljše upravljanje delovnih razmer in podporo zdravstvenih delavcev.

Title:Cognitive disorders of healthcare workers during long-term work in night shifts
Abstract:Background: Working long-term night shifts poses a significant challenge for healthcare workers, as it can lead to serious cognitive impairment. Changes in the natural circadian rhythm disrupt sleep, leading to increased fatigue and reduced concentration. Chronic sleep deprivation can have a negative impact on working memory, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Reduced alertness and increased error rates can compromise patient safety and the effectiveness of health care. Long-term exposure to night work can also contribute to the development of mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. To manage these problems, it is important to introduce strategies to improve sleep hygiene and reduce stress in the workplace. Occupational health research and interventions are crucial to reduce the negative consequences of night work for health workers. The aim of this study is to investigate the cognitive impairment of health workers during long-term night shift work. Methods: We used a qualitative research approach and a descriptive method. Based on a preliminary review of domestic and foreign scientific and professional literature, as well as international databases such as Cobiss, Google Scholar, Medline, dLib and PubMed, we developed questions for a semi-structured interview. Ethical principles of research were observed at all stages of data collection and processing. The data obtained were analysed, the interviewees responses were tabulated, and the data were coded and interpreted. Results: The survey was carried out among healthcare workers with at least one year of experience working night shifts. We found that healthcare workers are aware that night work has a negative impact on the quality of sleep of healthcare workers, which is reflected in shorter sleep duration, more frequent awakenings and poorer sleep quality. The association of night work with stress levels was evident, with health workers reporting increased irritability, anxiety and fatigue. In addition, health workers experienced reduced work efficiency, poorer concentration and more errors at work during night shifts. Discussion: We found that night work has a significant impact on health workers' sleep quality, stress levels and work performance. Interviewees reported poorer sleep quality, frequent awakenings and shorter sleep duration after night shifts, leading to increased fatigue and stress. Most healthcare workers experience more psychological problems such as irritability and anxiety, which are linked to circadian rhythm disturbances. Working long night shifts can cause cognitive impairment, and interviewees pointed out that these problems increase with the number of consecutive night shifts. The study found that health workers need to work more than five years on night shifts before serious cognitive impairment begins to occur, although individuals may differ in their adaptability and ways of coping with stress. Ultimately, strategies such as coffee drinking and short naps can help maintain alertness and reduce the impact of night shifts, but long-term solutions require better management of working conditions and support from health professionals.
