Abstract:Izhodišča: Namen paliativne oskrbe bolnikov s kronično boleznijo je zagotavljanje višje kakovosti življenja. Metoda: Uporabili smo kvantitativno raziskovalni pristop z deskriptivno metodo. Zbiranje primarnih podatkov je potekalo s tehniko anketiranja V raziskavi je sodelovalo 191 izvajalcev paliativne oskrbe, katerih odgovore smo analizirali s pomočjo statističnih programov Microsoft Office Excel in SPSS. Sekundarne podatke smo pridobili s pomočjo bibliografskih bazah (Google Scholar, Pubmed, CINAHL, Digitalna knjižnica Slovenije, UpToDate, EBSCO in Medline).

Title:PALIATIVE CARE Ensuring the highest possible quality of life for the patient in paliative care
Abstract:ABSTRACT Background: Palliative care provides higher levels of quality of life to patients with chronic and life-threatening illness. The aim of the research was to find out whether nurses help to ensure the highest possible quality of life for patients in palliative care through their activities. Method: We employed a quantitative research approach with a descriptive method. Primary data were collected using the survey technique, with 191 palliative care providers participating. Responses were analyzed using statistical methods via Microsoft Office Excel and SPSS. Secondary data were obtained from bibliographic databases, including Google Scholar, PubMed, CINAHL, Digital Library of Slovenia, UpToDate, EBSCO, and Medline. Results: We found that palliative care providers assess their knowledge in the field of palliative care as deficient. Additionally, patients in palliative care receive better care from providers in hospital departments compared to those employed in other departments. Discussion: The key finding of the research is the need for enhanced knowledge of palliative care and additional education for providers.
