Abstract:Magistrsko delo raziskuje vpliv pandemije covida-19 na ekonomsko globalizacijo.

Title:THE IMPACTS AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ON ECONOMIC GLOBALIZATION.
Abstract:The master's thesis explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on economic globalization. The aim of this thesis is to understand the course of this pandemic and, based on the findings, find the best possible response from countries and their relevant authorities, so that in the event of a new pandemic, they can act more appropriately and consequently reduce the impact on economic globalization. The new virus spread worldwide within a few months, causing significant changes in people's lives and business operations. During the pandemic, various measures were implemented by state authorities to prevent the spread of the new disease: mass testing and verification of PCT, mandatory mask-wearing, complete lockdown of the country with only essential services operating, closure of educational institutions, and workplaces, ban on public events, and gatherings in public and indoor spaces, closure of public transportation, campaigns for informing public, curfews, ban on movement within the country and restriction of border crossings, contact tracing policy, and vaccination policy. Using various research methods, we found that tourism, air transport, cultural, musical, and sports events, indoor sports activities, bars and clubbing places were hit the hardest. In contrast, large pharmaceutical companies, information technology providers, and online retailers experienced record profits. Due to strict anti-corona measures, many people assessed their material well-being as worse, because many businesses were forced to close, resulting in many people losing their jobs. There was also a significant increase in obesity, depression, and other mental disorders, while physical activity drastically decreased during the pandemic.
