Abstract:V zdravstveni dejavnosti in ustanovah, ki so povezane z zdravstvom, nastaja vse več odpadkov.

Title:WASTE MANAGEMENT IN HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract:More and more waste is generated in healthcare and in institutions connected to healthcare, some of which are also dangerous and require particularly careful handling. Due to the ever-increasing volume, waste directly and indirectly has a negative impact on the environment, water resources, health and, in the long term, on the quality of life on the planet. Therefore, one of the most important factors is the correct classification and handling of waste, so that we can protect the environment as well as health. It is also important that all institutions that come into contact with waste from healthcare follow the standards for handling this type of waste, and that they receive ongoing training and follow the rules on waste management. However, since there is unharmonized legislation in the field of waste management, problems arise in the correct classification of only this. The purpose of our research was to investigate the role of a graduate nurse in waste management in healthcare institutions, to identify the duties of a nurse in healthcare waste management and to investigate the most important problems that employees have in waste management.
