Title:Redna gibalna/športna aktivnost kot preventiva pred pojavom sarkopenije : magistrsko delo študijskega programa druge bolonjske stopnje Zdravstvene vede

Abstract:Uvod: Zaradi vse pogostejše gibalne neaktivnosti in sedentarnega načina življenja beležimo porast primerov sarkopenije. Upad mišične mase, mišične moči, in funkcije namreč vodijo v mišično-skeletno obolenje imenovano sarkopenija. Namen: Raziskati učinek 11- tedenskega vadbenega programa delavnice Gibam se v Zgornjesavinjskem CKZ, kot preventivni program pred pojavom sarkopenije. Prav tako udeležence programa ozavestiti o pomenu zdravega življenjskega sloga in redne gibalne aktivnosti. Metode: Uporabila sem kvantitativni raziskovalni pristop, za ovrednotenje učinka izvedenega vadbenega programa. Za testiranje sem uporabila slovensko različico Senior fitness testa s prilagoditvami, meritev telesne analize in vprašalnik o zdravstvenem stanju, gibalni aktivnosti in sedentarnem vedenju. Pridobljeni rezultati so statistično obdelani s SPSS programom. Rezultati: Vadbeni program je prispeval k pomembnemu zmanjšanju odstotka maščobne mase (p = 0,009). Pri mišični masi nismo dosegli značilnih sprememb (p = 0,636). Rezultati vprašalnika o gibalni aktivnosti kažejo, da je prišlo do pomembnega dviga izvajanja zmerno intenzivne gibalne aktivnosti. Sprememb pri visoko intenzivni gibalni aktivnosti nismo zaznali. Rezultati testiranja motoričnih sposobnosti so se pomembno izboljšali pri štirih od skupnih šestih testov. Do izboljšanja je prišlo pri časovno merjenem vstani in pojdi testu (p = 0,001), dosegu sede na stolu (p = 0,046), testu vstajanja s stola (p = 0,048) in pri 6-minutnem testu hoje (p = 0,004). Zaključek: Čeprav vadbeni program v okviru delavnice Gibam se ni prispeval k pomembnemu povečanju mišične mase, je pripomogel k izboljšanju motoričnih sposobnosti in povečanju pogostosti izvajanja gibalne aktivnosti. Kljub tem pozitivnim spremembam trenutni rezultati ne omogočajo dokončne potrditve učinkovitosti programa kot preventivnega ukrepa proti razvoju sarkopenije.

Abstract:Introduction: The rising prevalence of physical inactivity and sedentary lifestyles is contributing to an increase in sarcopenia cases. Declines in muscle mass, strength and function lead to a musculoskeletal disorder called sarcopenia. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of an 11-week exercise program conducted as part of the Gibam se workshop at Zgornjesavinjskem CKZ in preventing the onset of sarcopenia. Additionally, the program aimed to raise participants' awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and regular physical activity, both of which are crucial for managing sarcopenia. Methods: A quantitative research approach was employed to assess the impact of the Gibam se exercise program as a preventive measure against sarcopenia. I used the Slovenian version of the Senior Fitness Test with some adaptations, body composition measurements and a questionnaire on health, physical activity and sedentary behavior. The results were statistically processed using SPSS software. Results: The exercise program led to a significant reduction in body fat percentage (p = 0,009), although no significant changes in muscle mass were observed (p = 0,636). Questionnaire results showed a notable increase in moderate-intensity physical activity, while no significant changes were detected in highintensity physical activity. Improvements in motor skills were significant in four out of six tests when compared to baseline measurements. Notable improvements were observed in the timed sit-to-stand test (p = 0,001), the seated reach test (p = 0,046), the sit-to-stand test (p = 0,048), and the 6-minute walk test (p = 0,004). Conclusion: While the exercise program within the Gibam se workshop did not result in a significant increase in muscle mass, it effectively improved motor skills and increased the frequency of physical activity. Despite these positive outcomes, the current results do not provide conclusive evidence regarding the program's effectiveness as a preventive measure against sarcopenia.
