Podatke smo statistično obdelali z osnovno opisno statistiko s pomočjo programskega orodja Microsoft Excel in jih grafično ponazorili z ustrezno interpretacijo v programskem orodju Microsoft Word.

Abstract:Theoretical points: Nursing is often considered to be a profession that includes many activities and interventions to provide adequate care to those who need it most. Nursing primarily focuses on ensuring an adequate quality of life for patients; however, due to extensive workloads and a busy workday, employees are regularly exposed to high risks associated with stress. As such, the purpose of this diploma thesis was to research the stress of health workers when working with individuals in social welfare institutions. Methods: We have used the descriptive method in this thesis theoretical data collection and quantitative research using a survey questionnaire. The 65 respondents were employees of one of the social care homes in Slovenia. The data were statistically processed using basic descriptive statistics using Microsoft Excel and graphical illustration with appropriate interpretation in Microsoft Word. Results and discussion: The experience and perception of stress among respondents was rated at a medium/high level. The main factors contributing to this highlighted by respondents included an insufficient number of employees, demanding work schedules, and the scope of work to be performed. Conclusion: In the future, providing interventions to suit individual institutions and employees while simultaneously encouraging them to include strategies for coping with stressful events would prove beneficial. At the same time, healthcare businesses should consider the value of each employee and the effort made to ensure that residents receive suitable, high-quality care.
