S terapevtskim odnosom do pacientke prispeva k občutku slišanosti in sprejetosti, kar pomembno zmanjša pacientkino čustveno stisko.

Title:The nurses role in treatment of a patient with endometriosis
Abstract:Endometriosis is a chronic, hormone-dependent gynecological condition that is increasingly common and affects approximately 10–15% of women of reproductive age. A frequent consequence of endometriosis is infertility, and the disease can significantly impact a woman's quality of life. Due to the diversity of symptoms and the complexity of diagnosis, timely detection and a comprehensive approach to patient care are crucial. In this process, the role of the nurse is of great importance. The study employes a qualitative research approach using a descriptive work method. Primary data for the analysis were collected through the interview technique. The sample was purposive and included registered nurses who work with patients diagnosed with endometriosis and have more than one year of work experience in various healthcare settings. Six registered nurses who work daily with patients diagnosed with endometriosis participated in the study. The findings revealed that nurses play a key role in the care of patients with endometriosis. Their responsibilities include providing information about the disease, offering support in coping with infertility and pain, and encouraging patients to actively participate in the treatment process. Emphasis was placed on the importance of empathy, professionalism, and health education. The therapeutic relationship between the nurse and the patient with endometriosis has a significant impact on the patient's satisfaction and her involvement in the treatment of the disease. The study found that a holistic healthcare approach contributes to better disease management and an improved quality of life for women with endometriosis. The registered nurse plays a key role in this process by providing effective support through her specific knowledge of endometriosis and understanding of the disease’s complexity. She is responsible for ensuring appropriate health education and informing the patient about the condition, its potential consequences, and the various treatment options available. Furthermore, she motivates and encourages the patient to actively participate in the treatment process and to adopt a healthy lifestyle. By establishing a therapeutic relationship, the nurse helps the patient feel heard and accepted, which significantly reduces emotional distress. The nurse also plays an essential role in supporting patients struggling with infertility due to endometriosis, offering emotional support, understanding, and open, honest communication.
