Abstract:V steklarski industriji diamantne plošče predstavljajo orodje za natančno brušenje, vendar se zaradi specifičnih delovnih pogojev neenakomerno obrabljajo.

Title:Development of a purpose-built machine for diamond plate profiling
Abstract:In the glass industry, diamond plates are tools for precision grinding; however, due to specific operating conditions, they are subject to uneven wear. As a result, pits and grooves appear on the surface, leading to reduced grinding quality, increased vibrations, and premature disposal of the plates despite the presence of usable diamond coating. This master’s thesis presents the development of a purpose-built profiling machine designed to restore the uniform surface of diamond plates and enable their reuse. The prototype allows for precise removal of worn material while preserving the remaining coating and ensuring a stable and repeatable process. Validation under industrial conditions confirmed that profiling significantly reduces surface roughness and vibrations while improving grinding efficiency. The results demonstrate that the developed system extends the service life of diamond plates, lowers production costs and waste generation, and contributes to sustainable development in the glass industry.
