Title:Učinkovitost navidezne resničnosti pri zgodnji rehabilitaciji zgornjega uda po možganski kapi : magistrsko delo študijskega programa druge bolonjske stopnje Zdravstvene vede-Fizioterapija

Abstract:Uvod V magistrskem delu se proučuje učinkovitost terapije z navidezno resničnostjo (NR) kot dodatka k standardni fizioterapiji v zgodnji rehabilitaciji zgornjega uda po možganski kapi. Čeprav je uporaba NR v kronični fazi že dokazana kot učinkovita, ostaja njena uporaba v akutni fazi, zlasti v Sloveniji, manj raziskana. Cilj raziskave je bil ugotoviti, ali lahko kratkotrajna, petnajstminutna terapija z NR izboljša motorične funkcije zgornjega uda pri pacientih po akutni možganski kapi. Metode Študija je bila izvedena kot randomizirana kontrolirana raziskava na Kliniki za nevrologijo Univerzitetnega kliničnega centra Maribor. Vključenih je bilo 40 bolnikov, hospitaliziranih najmanj 10 dni, razdeljenih v kontrolno in intervencijsko skupino. Uporabljeni so bili funkcijski testi WMFT, FMA-UE in gibalni indeks (Bimeo Pro). Intervencijska skupina je izvajala 15 minut terapije z NR dnevno, kontrolna pa dodatnih 15 minut standardne fizioterapije. Podatki so bili analizirani kvantitativno. Rezultati Intervencijska skupina je pokazala statistično značilne izboljšave, zlasti pri testih FMA-UE, WMFT in gibalnem indeksu, medtem ko med skupinama ni bilo značilnih razlik. NR se je izkazala kot učinkovit dopolnilni pristop. Razprava in zaključek Tudi kratkotrajna terapija z NR lahko pozitivno vpliva na zgodnjo rehabilitacijo. Kljub omejitvam (majhen vzorec, kratko trajanje) raziskava prispeva k razumevanju učinkov NR in odpira pot nadaljnjim raziskavam.

Abstract:Introduction This master's thesis examines the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) therapy as an adjunct to standard physiotherapy in the early rehabilitation of the upper limb following a stroke. While VR has been recognized in the literature as effective in improving motor functions during the chronic phase, its use in the acute phase remains under-researched, particularly in the Slovenian context. The aim of this study was to assess whether a short, 15-minute VR therapy session could contribute to improved motor function in the upper limb of patients after an acute stroke. Methods The study was conducted as a randomized controlled trial at the Neurology Clinic of the University Medical Centre Maribor. Forty patients hospitalized for at least 10 days were included and divided into an intervention and a control group. The functional assessment tools used were the WMFT, FMA-UE, and the motor index (Bimeo Pro system). The intervention group received 15 minutes of VR therapy daily, while the control group received 15 additional minutes of standard physiotherapy. Data were analyzed using quantitative statistical methods. Results The intervention group showed statistically significant improvements, particularly in the FMA-UE, WMFT, and motor index, although no statistically significant differences were observed between the two groups. VR therapy proved to be an effective complementary approach. Discussion and Conclusion Even short-term VR intervention can positively affect early rehabilitation after stroke. Despite limitations such as a small sample size and short duration, the findings contribute to better understanding of the early application of VR and serve as a basis for further research with larger samples and long-term follow-up.
