Abstract:Odločitve v kritičnih zdravstvenih situacijah, kot so oživljanje ali opustitev zdravljenja, vključujejo usklajevanje etičnih dilem, kliničnih smernic, pacientovih želja, pričakovanj svojcev in osebnih vrednot zdravstvenega delavca.

Title:THE ETHICS OF SAVING LIVES IN TRAUMA THAT IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH LIFE
Abstract:Decisions in critical healthcare situations, such as resuscitation and treatment withdrawal, involve balancing ethical dilemmas, clinical guidelines, patients' wishes, relatives' expectations, as well as personal values of healthcare professionals. Although clinical guidelines reduce uncertainty, their ambiguity may increase ethical strain and team discrepancies or conflicts. The presence of relatives and the associated psychological stress underscore the need for balanced communication, collective decision-making, and the adequate support for employees. Personal moral beliefs, emotions and intuition exert a minor impact on final decisions. Nevertheless, the willingness to seek psychological support after tragic events remains an important factor in managing stress and maintaining the quality of care. The bachelor's thesis examines ethical dilemmas healthcare professionals encounter when making decisions on life-saving interventions in cases of severe trauma incompatible with life.
Keywords:ethics, trauma, end-of-life autonomy, treatment decision, life-saving intervention
