Abstract:Izhodišča: Transplantacija ledvice je najuspešnejša oblika zdravljenja končne ledvične odpovedi, saj pacientom omogoča daljše preživetje in boljšo kakovost življenja kot dializa. Odgovore smo analizirali s pomočjo tematskega kodiranja in ugotovitve primerjali z obstoječo literaturo. Največ zaupanja uživa transplantacijska ambulanta, medtem ko primarna in sekundarna raven oskrbe ostajata šibkejši. Za dolgoročno izboljšanje obravnave so ključne večja koordinacija med izvajalci, večja dostopnost informacij in okrepljena psihosocialna podpora.

Title:PATIENTS EVALUATION OF HELATHCARE AFTER KIDNEY TRANSPLANTATION
Abstract:Background: Kidney transplantation is the most effective treatment for end-stage renal disease, providing patients with longer survival and better quality of life than dialysis. After transplantation, patients face challenges related to lifelong immunosuppressive therapy and the need for continuous healthcare. The aim of this study was to evaluate how patients perceive healthcare after kidney transplantation and to identify key factors contributing to recovery. Methods: The study was based on a qualitative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with eight kidney transplant recipients. The responses were analyzed using thematic coding and compared with existing literature. Results: Participants assessed healthcare as mostly satisfactory, especially in the transplant clinic, but noted shortcomings in communication, information transfer, and coordination across healthcare levels. Recovery was supported by family, healthcare professionals’ competence, and patients’ own motivation. Physical and psychological improvements were reported, along with side effects of immunosuppressive therapy affecting daily life. Discussion: Patients emphasized the importance of continuous support, clear communication, and consistent guidance. While the transplant clinic was highly valued, primary and secondary care were perceived as weaker. Long-term improvements require stronger coordination, better access to information, and additional psychosocial support.
Keywords:Kidney transplantation, healthcare evaluation, immunosuppressive therapy, patient evaluation, quality of life.
