Title:Mladi v pasti iger na srečo: prevalenca in vedenjski vzorci slovenskih srednješolcev pri igrah na srečo

Abstract:Igre na srečo med mladostniki postajajo vedno bolj razširjen pojav, ki ga spodbujata dostopnost in digitalizacija ponudbe. Namen raziskave je bil preučiti prevalenco igranja iger na srečo med slovenskimi srednješolci ter analizirati ključne dejavnike, ki vplivajo na njihovo igralniško vedenje. Anketirana skupina 815 dijakov je pokazala, da jih je 40,9 % vsaj enkrat v zadnjem letu igralo igre na srečo za denar, pri čemer so fantje izrazito bolj dejavni kot dekleta. S pomočjo metode k-voditeljev smo dijake razvrstili v tri skupine: aktivne igralce, radovedne igralce in nezainteresirane. Rezultati potrjujejo, da je zgodnja izpostavljenost igram na srečo pomemben napovednik kasnejše intenzivnosti igranja. Povezanost igranja iger na srečo z nižjim učnim uspehom in izpostavljenostjo digitalnim vsebinam opozarja na potrebo po regulaciji in preventivnih ukrepih za zaščito mladostnikov pred tveganji problematičnega igranja.

Title:Youth in the trap of gambling: Prevalence and Behavioural Patterns of Slovenian High School Students in Gambling
Abstract:Gambling among adolescents is becoming an increasingly widespread phenomenon, driven by accessibility and the digitalization of gambling platforms. This study aims to examine the prevalence of gambling among Slovenian high school students and analyse key factors influencing their gambling behaviour. A survey conducted among 815 students revealed that 40.9% had engaged in gambling for money at least once in the past year, with male students being significantly more active than female students. Using the k-means clustering method, we classified students into three groups: active gamblers, curious players, and nongamblers. The results confirm that early exposure to gambling is a strong predictor of later gambling intensity. The observed correlation between gambling, lower academic achievement, and exposure to digital content highlights the need for regulation and preventive measures to protect adolescents from the risks associated with problematic gambling behaviour.
