Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava osnovno šolo kot možen prostor medgeneracijskega sodelovanja starejših odraslih in otrok.

Abstract:The thesis treats elementary school as a potential space for intergenerational cooperation between older adults and children. The theoretical part lays the foundation for understanding the topic by examining professional and scientific literature in the aforementioned fields. It presents demographic aging processes and their social consequences, as well as various aspects of intergenerational relationships. Special attention is paid to the positive effects of intergenerational contact, with a focus on primary school as a place that can make an important contribution to promoting intergenerational coexistence through its compulsory and extended programs. The focus is on the extent to which the Slovenian primary school curriculum allows for the inclusion of such intergenerational content. The empirical part presents a content analysis of the revised curricula and other conceptual documents of Slovenian primary schools from the perspective of the possibility of incorporating intergenerational content. The analysis is limited to grades 1 to 5 of primary school. The results show that opportunities for intergenerational cooperation in primary schools are mainly implicit. They are explicitly recognized in the new extended program, while the compulsory curricula mostly do not address them systematically. This indicates a need for more systematic integration of such content into pedagogical practice. Based on the analysis, proposals are made for further research and future development of intergenerational activities in schools, as well as recommendations for their implementation.
