Abstract:Doktorska disertacija s triangulacijo mikrohistoričnega pristopa, zgodovine mentalitet ter kritično prevetrenim konceptom ego dokumenta preučuje Tagebuch 1844 Louise Crobath (Pesjakove) (1828–1898).

Abstract:The doctoral dissertation uses a triangulation of the microhistorical approach, the history of mentalities, and a critically revised concept of the ego document in examining Louise Crobath's Tagebuch 1844 (Pesjakova) (1828–1898). The central theme is the tension between the individual's "right of the heart"—i.e., personal desires and aspirations—and the constraints of the "bourgeois corset," which represents the strict conventions, expectations, and rules of the bourgeoisie. The dissertation shows that the author of Tagebuch 1844 was the ideal type of individual whose bourgeois identity was shaped by a subtle strategy of "assimilation" rather than revolutionary opposition to class expectations, rules, and norms. The thesis of the dissertation transforms the work from an archival curiosity into a veritable cultural key to understanding bourgeois culture. The family was the space of her individuality and at the same time the zone in which she became a bourgeois woman. The study identifies key ritualized sociocultural practices that actively reinforced bourgeois identity, including social gatherings (soirees) and dance events, among which was the so-called "Kaiserball"; dress; reading and attending theatrical performances; and traveling, which enabled discreet personal interactions, thus also emphasizing the constant conflict between the need for intimate bonds and the demands for discipline and conformity dictated by class. Louise Crobath's Tagebuch 1844 ultimately serves as a semi-private and semi-public source for reinforcing bourgeois norms and conventions.
