Abstract:Mehanske lastnosti kovinskih materialov, izdelanih s postopki selektivnega laserskega taljenja (LPBF/SLM), so v literaturi obsežno obravnavane, vendar so rezultati pogosto razpršeni in metodološko težko primerljivi. Analiza kaže, da Ti-6Al-4V, izdelan z LPBF/SLM, v stanju as-built pogosto dosega večje vrednosti natezne trdnosti in meje tečenja, vendar ob večji razpršenosti rezultatov. Orientacija gradnje in mikrostruktura bistveno vplivata na duktilnost in lomno obnašanje, medtem ko toplotna in HIP-obdelava zmanjšujeta anizotropijo. Delo vzpostavlja analitični okvir za primerjalno vrednotenje rezultatov ter prispeva k jasnejšemu razumevanju potenciala in omejitev tehnologije LPBF/SLM.

Title:Systematic review and comparative analysis of tensile properties of ti-6al-4v alloy produced by LPBF/SLM based on a literature review
Abstract:The mechanical properties of metallic materials produced by selective laser melting (LPBF/SLM) have been extensively investigated in the literature; however, the reported results are often scattered and methodologically difficult to compare. Tensile properties are significantly influenced by process parameters, build orientation, microstructure, and post-processing treatments. In the case of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy, pronounced anisotropy and a trade-off between strength and ductility are observed, associated with the layer-wise manufacturing process and the martensitic microstructure in the as-built condition. The aim of this master’s thesis is, through a systematic literature review and comparative analysis, to contribute to a better understanding of the variability in mechanical properties and to provide a more reliable interpretation of the mechanical behavior of LPBF/SLM-produced Ti-6Al-4V compared to conventionally manufactured material. The analysis indicates that LPBF/SLM-manufactured Ti-6Al-4V in the as-built condition often exhibits higher ultimate tensile strength and yield strength, albeit with greater variability. Build orientation and microstructure significantly affect ductility and fracture behavior, while heat treatment and hot isostatic pressing (HIP) reduce anisotropy. The thesis establishes an analytical framework for comparative evaluation of published results and contributes to a clearer understanding of the potential and limitations of LPBF/SLM technology.
