Title:Primerjava nacistične propagande z današnjimi oblikami politične propagande

Abstract:Magistrska naloga obravnava propagando kot pomemben mehanizem politične komunikacije ter analizira njeno delovanje v dveh različnih kontekstih: v obdobju nacistične Nemčije in v sodobnem digitalnem medijskem okolju. Namen naloge je analizirati temeljne propagandne mehanizme ter primerjati propagandne tehnike nacistične Nemčije s sodobnimi oblikami politične propagande. V teoretičnem delu naloga opredeli pojem propagande, predstavi njen razvoj in obravnava ključne teoretične modele, vlogo medijev ter psihološke in sociološke mehanizme njenega delovanja. V nadaljevanju predstavi propagando v nacistični Nemčiji s poudarkom na organizaciji propagandnega aparata, vlogi medijev ter simbolni in psihološki dimenziji propagande ter obravnava sodobne oblike politične propagande v digitalnem okolju, zlasti vlogo družbenih omrežij, algoritmov, personalizacije sporočil in pojavov dezinformacij. Empirični del temelji na primerjalni analizi propagandnih tehnik, zasnovani na analitičnih kategorijah, kot so organizacija in nadzor propagande, mediji in distribucijski kanali, retorične in diskurzivne tehnike, vizualna estetika in simbolika ter psihološki mehanizmi vplivanja, na podlagi katerih so analizirani izbrani primeri nacistične in sodobne propagande. Rezultati kažejo, da se temeljni propagandni mehanizmi niso bistveno spremenili, temveč so se prilagodili novim medijskim in tehnološkim razmeram. V obeh kontekstih prevladujejo poenostavljanje, emocionalizacija, konstrukcija sovražnika ter ponavljanje ključnih narativov. Ključna razlika je v načinu delovanja: nacistična propaganda je bila centralizirana, sodobna pa deluje razpršeno, personalizirano in pogosto prikrito preko digitalnih platform, kjer imajo pomembno vlogo algoritmi. Naloga zaključuje, da sodobna propaganda predstavlja transformacijo zgodovinskih praks.

Title:Comparison of Nazi Propaganda and Contemporary Forms of Political Propaganda
Abstract:This master's thesis examines propaganda as a key mechanism of political communication and analyzes its functioning in two contexts: Nazi Germany and the contemporary digital media environment. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the fundamental mechanisms of propaganda and to compare propaganda techniques used in Nazi Germany with those found in contemporary forms of political communication. The theoretical part defines the concept of propaganda, outlines its development, and discusses key theoretical models, the role of the media, and the psychological and sociological mechanisms underlying its functioning. It further examines propaganda in Nazi Germany, focusing on the organization of the propaganda apparatus, the role of the media, and its symbolic and psychological dimensions, and addresses contemporary forms of political propaganda in the digital environment, particularly the role of social media, algorithms, message personalization, and disinformation. The empirical part is based on a comparative analysis of propaganda techniques, structured around analytical categories such as organization and control, media and distribution channels, rhetorical and discursive techniques, visual aesthetics and symbolism, and psychological mechanisms of influence. The results show that the fundamental mechanisms of propaganda have not significantly changed but have adapted to new media and technological conditions. In both contexts, dominant features include simplification, emotionalization, the construction of enemies, and the repetition of key narratives. The main difference lies in the mode of operation: Nazi propaganda was centralized, whereas contemporary propaganda is decentralized, personalized, and often covert, with algorithms playing a key role. The thesis concludes that contemporary propaganda represents a transformation of historical practices.
