Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: V 21. stoletju se globalni zdravstveni sistemi soočajo z intenzivnimi demografskimi spremembami, pri čemer staranje in dolgoživost prebivalstva predstavljata enega največjih izzivov za primarno zdravstveno varstvo. V Zdravstvenem domu dr.

Abstract:Theoretical background: In the 21st century, global healthcare systems are facing profound demographic changes, with population ageing and increased longevity representing one of the major challenges for primary healthcare. Family medicine practices play a crucial role in this context, as they must respond to the growing and increasingly complex needs of older patients while adapting to new organisational demands. Methodology: The study is based on a quantitative research approach with empirical data collection. A survey was conducted among 68 employees working in 50 family medicine practices at the Community Health Center dr. Adolf Drolc Maribor. Data were analysed using IBM SPSS and Microsoft Excel, and hypothesis testing was based on statistical significance testing (p ≤ 0.05). Results: The results showed that physicians, compared to other healthcare professionals, more strongly recognise the impact of demographic changes on work organisation and express a greater need for organisational change. Significant associations were also confirmed between the perceived increase in the number of older patients and the need for organisational changes, as well as between the increase in older patients and the need for additional education of healthcare professionals. Discussion: The findings confirm that demographic changes have a substantial impact on the organisation of family medicine practices. Differences between physicians and other healthcare professionals highlight the need for stronger interprofessional collaboration and systematic education. The study indicates the necessity of organisational and workforce policy adjustments in family medicine in order for the system to respond effectively to the challenges posed by an ageing population.
