Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Operativni poseg močno vpliva na življenje starejših odraslih. Rezultati: Starejši odrasli so imeli največkrat (N = 23, f = 47 %) operativni poseg na kolenu (N = 23, f = 47 %), kolku (N = 17, f = 35 %) in hrbtenici (N = 6, f = 12 %). Ključno vlogo po operativnem ortopedskem zdravljenju so pripisali zdravnikom (N = 25, f = 46 %), fizioterapevtom (N = 19, f = 35 %) in medicinskim sestram (N = 10, f = 19 %). Anketirani starejši odrasli so z zdravstveno nego po operativnem posegu največkrat (N = 28, f = 57 %) zelo zadovoljni. Razprava: Rehabilitacija starejših odraslih je domena multidisciplinarnega zdravstvenega tima, katere ključen člen je medicinska sestra. Zadovoljstvo pacientov z zdravstveno nego naj bo medicinskim sestram še naprej delovno vodilo. Operativno ortopedsko zdravljenje bistveno izboljša življenje starejših odraslih z ortopedskim obolenjem.

Abstract:Theoretical background: Surgery has a significant impact on the lives of older adults. This thesis aimed to determine the impact of orthopedic surgery on older adults and their satisfaction with postoperative healthcare. Methodology: In addition to basic descriptive statistics, a quantitative research method was used, employing a proprietary questionnaire. The sample included 49 older adults who came for a follow-up examination at the Murska Sobota General Hospital after orthopedic surgery. To interpret the results, we used tabular numerical and percentage displays with the help of Microsoft Excel. Results: Older adults most often (N = 23, f = 47%) underwent surgery on the knee (N = 23, f = 47%), hip (N = 17, f = 35%), and spine (N = 6, f = 12%). Their pain decreased from 6.8 to 3.9 on a 10-point Likert scale compared to the time before surgery and the time of the follow-up examination. On average, the surgery had the greatest impact on their physical condition (N = 42, f = 86%), and they attributed a key role in post-operative orthopedic treatment to doctors (N = 25, f = 46%), physical therapists (N = 19, f = 35%), and nurses (N = 10, f = 19%). The older adults surveyed were most often (N = 28, f = 57%) very satisfied with the healthcare they received after surgery. Discussion: The rehabilitation of older adults is the domain of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, of which nurses are a key component. Patient satisfaction with healthcare should continue to be a guiding principle for nurses. Surgical orthopedic treatment significantly improves the lives of older adults with orthopedic conditions.
