Abstract:Borilne veščine so raznolika skupina športnih disciplin, ki vključujejo različne oblike kontaktnih in nekontaktnih tehnik, pri čemer športniki pogosto doživljajo specifične poškodbe zaradi intenzivnosti in narave gibanja.

Abstract:Martial arts represent a diverse group of sports disciplines that include various forms of contact and non-contact techniques, where athletes frequently experience specific injuries due to the intensity and nature of movement. This thesis addresses the most common ankle injuries occurring in different martial arts and analyzes key biomechanical and preventive factors associated with their occurrence. The aim of the thesis was to determine, based on a review of scientific literature, which ankle injuries are most common depending on the type of martial art, what their most frequent causes are, and which strategies have proven most effective in prevention and rehabilitation. The empirical part is based on a systematic review of scientific research that includes both contact and non-contact martial arts, using the PRISMA methodology. The results show that ankle sprains are among the most common injuries. Biomechanical errors in technique execution, overuse, and lack of protective equipment play a key role in their occurrence. Effective prevention includes proper warm-up, strengthening of stabilizing muscles, the use of protective gear, and regular monitoring by a physiotherapist. The thesis offers important guidelines for safer training and more effective physiotherapeutic management of martial arts athletes.
