Abstract:Introduction: Physical and mental changes often occur in old age, affecting the quality of life of older adults. Recently, specific alternative techniques for individual well-being have become increasingly popular. One such approach, as a form of holistic health support, involves exercises for detoxification and self-healing of the body. The aim of the study was to examine their impact on physical activity, physical and mental health, and quality of life among participants at a day activity center. Methods: The study was based on a qualitative research approach. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview that included open-ended questions. The study included participants of a day activity center who attend detoxification and self-healing exercises. The sample was non-random, purposive. The collected data were processed and interpreted using open coding. Results: The results show that the exercises have a positive impact on physical activity, as participants report increased mobility and motivation to exercise. They also noted an improvement in physical well-being, a reduction in pain, and increased energy. In terms of mental health, they highlighted reduced stress, greater relaxation, and improved mood. The social component of the exercise program also has a significant impact. Discussion and Conclusion: The findings confirm the importance of a holistic approach to health that integrates physical, mental, and social dimensions. Exercise provides effective support for active aging; however, it would be advisable to expand its availability to rural areas and encourage the participation of the male population.
