Fizioterapevti so zaradi fizične narave dela, čustvene vpletenosti in stalnega stika s pacienti zelo izpostavljeni stresnim obremenitvam. Zbrani podatki so bili analizirani s pomočjo deskriptivne statistike.

Abstract:Introduction: Work-related stress represents an important factor that affects the psychophysical health of healthcare workers as well as the quality of the provision of healthcare services. Physiotherapists, due to the physical nature of their work, emotional involvement, and constant contact with patients, are highly exposed to stress burdens. The aim of the study was to examine the impact of work-related stress on physiotherapists employed in the public and private sectors, and to compare differences in the experience of stress, its sources, consequences, and coping strategies between the two sectors. Methods: In the study, we used a quantitative research method with a survey questionnaire. The questionnaire was designed based on a review of professional literature. It was distributed to physiotherapists employed in the public and private sectors. The survey was conducted using the 1KA program. The sample included 80 physiotherapists from various healthcare institutions. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. To test the hypotheses, the binomial test, Spearman’s correlation coefficient, and the chi-square test were used. The data analysis was carried out using the SPSS program. Results: The results of the study showed that more than 60% of physiotherapists in the public sector report a high level of work-related stress, while the difference compared to the private sector was not statistically significant. Administrative burdens proved to be a significant cause of stress. A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the experience of work-related stress and emotional exhaustion. The majority of physiotherapists in both sectors use physical activity as a strategy for managing stress. Discussion: Results indicate that work-related stress represents an important factor in the working environment of physiotherapists in both sectors and that it can have significant consequences for their psychophysical well-being and work efficiency.
