Abstract:Teoretična izhodišča: Disfunkcija tetive tibialis posterior je eden izmed glavnih vzrokov za nastanek pridobljenega ploskega stopala. Metoda: V empiričnem delu smo uporabili kvalitativno metodologijo. Članke smo iskali v podatkovnih bazah PEDro, PubMed, Science Direct, Google Učenjak, Emerald, ProQuest in COBISS. Članke smo iskali s pomočjo ključnih besed, ki smo jih povezali z operaterji AND (slov. IN) in/ali OR (slov.

Abstract:Theoretical background: Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction is one of the main causes of acquired flatfoot deformity. The disease is classically divided into 4 stages. However, authors still propose new classifications. The most commonly used classification is the one proposed by Johnson and Strom in 1989. Method: In the empirical part, we used a qualitative methodology. Articles were searched in the databases PEDro, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Emerald, Proquest and COBISS. The articles were searched using keywords connected with the operators AND and/or OR: »physiotherapy«, »treatment« and »posterior tibial tendon dysfunction«. We included articles published between 2015 and 2025 with free full-text access in Slovenian or English. Results: Based on the search criteria, we found 2522 results. From these, 6 scientific articles were included in the final literature review. Discussion: Based on the results obtained from the empirical and theoretical backgrounds, we conclude that the most effective physiotherapy interventions are eccentric strengthening of tibialis posterior, strengthening of the intrinsic foot muscles and the use of custom-made orthoses.
