Abstract:Uvod: Razvoj otroka je večplasten in kompleksen individualni proces razvoja motoričnih, kognitivnih, čustvenih, socialnih in senzoričnih sposobnosti. Uporabili smo metodo kompilacije (povzemanje), komparacije in analize znanstvene in strokovne literature. Izbor člankov smo pridobili iz spletnih podatkovnih baz PubMed, ScienceDirect, PEDro, ResearchGate in COBISS. Izbrane članke smo predstavili s PRISMA-diagramom. Rezultati: Senzorne igre pomembno vplivajo na fino in grobo motoriko, koordinacijo, ravnotežje in doseganje višjih motoričnih aktivnosti. Učinkovitost različnih fizioterapevtskih metod in tehnik, kot so Bobath, senzorna integracija, hipoterapija in terapija po Watsu, spodbujajo optimalen gibalni razvoj, zmanjšajo razvojne zaostanke in omogočijo boljši nadaljnji razvoj otrok. Razprava: Za uspešno izboljšanje kakovost življenja otrok z razvojnimi motnjami sta ključna individualni pristop in uporaba različnih fizioterapevtskih metod in tehnik. Bobath, senzorna integracija in edukacija staršev predstavljajo pomembno podporo v procesu preventive in terapije.

Abstract:Introduction: Child development is a multifaceted and complex individual process involving the development of motor, cognitive, emotional, social, and sensory abilities. Sensory integration plays a key role in this process, as it enables the effective processing of sensory stimuli. Through sensory play, we help children improve their sensory perception and adapt to environmental stimuli. Developmental physiotherapy focuses on addressing developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and other health conditions that negatively affect children’s quality of life. The purpose of this thesis was to determine the impact of sensory play on children’s motor development and to identify which physiotherapeutic methods and techniques are used during the first developmental stage of childhood. Method: The thesis is based on a qualitative research method using a literature review. The methods of compilation (summarization), comparison, and analysis of scientific and professional literature were applied. The selected articles were obtained from online databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, PEDro, ResearchGate, and COBISS. The selected articles were presented using a PRISMA diagram. Results: Sensory play has a significant impact on fine and gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and the achievement of higher motor activities. The effectiveness of various physiotherapeutic methods and techniques such as the Bobath concept, sensory integration, hippotherapy, and Watsu therapy promotes optimal motor development, reduces developmental delays, and enables better further development of children. Discussion: For successfully improving the quality of life of children with developmental disorders, an individualized approach and the use of various physiotherapeutic methods and techniques are essential. The Bobath concept, sensory integration, and parent education provide important support in both prevention and therapy.
