Abstract:Diplomsko delo obravnava vlogo diplomiranega zdravstvenika pri izobraževanju in usposabljanju pripadnikov Slovenske vojske, s poudarkom na implementaciji načel Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).

Title:THE ROLE OF A REGISTERED NURSE IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN THE SLOVENIAN ARMED FORCES
Abstract:This thesis examines the role of registered nurses in the Slovenian Armed Forces in the context of education and training, with a particular emphasis on the implementation of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC). The theoretical part outlines the fundamental principles of TCCC, its phases, and the international standards defined by NATO doctrines and contemporary military medical guidelines. Special attention is given to the pedagogical and professional responsibilities of registered nurses within the military environment, as well as the specific challenges associated with delivering medical training in operational settings. The empirical part is based on a quantitative study conducted among members of the Slovenian Armed Forces who have participated in training sessions led by registered nurses. The results show that most respondents have more than ten years of service, which enhances the reliability of their assessments. Participants rated the training as highly professional, useful, and practically oriented, particularly highlighting the importance of mastering massive hemorrhage control, tourniquet application, wound management, airway care, and preparation for evacuation. The findings confirm that registered nurses significantly contribute to improving the competence of military personnel and effectively transferring knowledge into real tactical environments. The study concludes that the role of registered nurses is essential for the successful implementation of TCCC within the Slovenian Armed Forces and for maintaining training standards aligned with international guidelines. The results provide a valuable foundation for further development of educational programs and the strengthening of medical support in military operations.
