Title:Working environment of Slovenian physiotherapists in connection with stress
Abstract:The purpose of the diploma thesis was to find out stress in the workplace of Slovenian physiotherapists, to identify stress factors and to avoid stress in the workplace. We made two hypotheses. The hypotheses relates a level of stress at physiotherapists workplace and the connetion of stress by different workplaces. The thesis contains an empirical part. Primary sources were thus obtained through a survey questionnaire, and secondary sources were obtained from a number of students from different literatures. From the diploma, we found that most physical therapists do not feel stressed at work. The main consequence of stress is fatigue and lack of energy, irritability and headache. Demanding patient care, patient patience and collaboration are the main reasons why physiotherapists see a challenge when working with a physically handicapped or mentally handicapped person. We find that most physical therapists think about work at home and discuss it with their loved ones. When a physiotherapist is under pressure, he or she tries to respond normally, the least respondent reacts aggressively. Talking with a coworker helps most to overcome stress. We find that more than half of physiotherapists in stressful situations do not fully attend to patients. Most physiotherapists feel good in the workplace, but the vast majority want additional reinforcements (recruitment of additional physiotherapists). We found that experiencing stress did not differ with regard to the institution where the physiotherapist was employed. Most physiotherapists in the workplace do not provide lectures on helping to cope with stress, although most physiotherapists would attend those lectures. A higher salary bracket would improve wellbeing and reduce stress in 54 percent of physiotherapists, as this would be considered rewarding. We found that 77 percent of physical therapists were dissatisfied with the amount of their salary. The most common factors that lead to stress and thus require demanding work for the time to be done and lay off employees. Physiotherapists who experience stress on their career paths are as intense as physiotherapists who have been employed for more than 21 years. The task was really a user for superiors, in order to reduce stress in employees, physiotherapists, who would more easily identify the initial stress at work.
