Abstract:Diplomska naloga se poglablja v kvaliteto življenja oseb s Parkinsonovo boleznijo in v njihovo sprejemanje stanja bolezni. V teoretičnem delu podajamo definicijo Parkinsonove bolezni in pojasnimo faze razvoja bolezni po Braaku. Raziskali smo, kako specialisti postavijo diagnozo in kako jo bolniki sprejemajo.

Title:The quality of life of people with Parkinson´s disese and their acceptance of the disese state
Abstract:The diploma thesis delves into the quality of life of people with Parkinson's disease and their acceptance of the disease state. In the theoretical part, there is a definition of Parkinson's disease and its development stages are explained according to the Braak Staging Framework. We investigated how specialists make diagnoses and how patients accept them. In the added chapters, the focus is put on presymptomatic features, motor and non-motor symptoms of the Parkinson's disease, and on the treatment of the initial and advanced disease phases. An in-depth study to define the quality of life is made, and in the subchapter, more attention is given to the quality of life of people with Parkinson's disease. Finally, the PDQ-39 questionnaire is presented, with each questionnaire dimension described separately in the subchapters. The semi-structured interview findings help provide answers to the two research questions. Five people diagnosed with Parkinson's disease took part in the research. The collected interview answers indicate a changed or reduced quality of life of people with PD in communication or conveying messages, in their daily activities and in their concentration and memory. Moreover, the disease reduces their quality of life due to the changed physical condition which also affects lower quality of well-being in the company of other people and the everyday challenges they face because of the disease. Initially, the interviewees denied their disease and found it difficult to accept, but over time, they began to adapt to it and alleviate its symptoms. Family is of great help in accepting and coping, and they cited it as the most important support factor.
