Abstract:V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali odnos mladih do uživanja energijskih pijač in razširjenost njihovega uživanja med mlajšimi generacijami.

Title:THE USE AND RELATION OF YOUNG ADULTS TOWARDS ENERGY DRINKS
Abstract:The thesis explores the attitudes of young people towards consuming energy drinks and their prevalence among younger generations. Energy drinks are stimulant beverages containing high levels of caffeine, sugar, and other ingredients, promising increased alertness and energy, with their excessive consumption posing health risks. The study aimed to investigate the extent of energy drink consumption among younger generations, identify reasons why young people turn to such beverages, ascertain how young people feel physically and mentally after consuming energy drinks, and examine the extent to which young people are aware of the potential negative health consequences of energy drink consumption. The theoretical section provided a detailed presentation of the composition of energy drinks and their impact on the body. The issues were described, emphasizing the need for stricter regulation and sales limitations of energy drinks, along with increasing awareness. In the empirical section, research questions were addressed through participant interviews. The sample consisted of 5 participants aged 18 to 19, who regularly and frequently consume energy drinks. Results indicated that energy drinks are highly prevalent among young people, and family, peers, and marketing play significant roles in young people's decisions to consume them. Young people are attracted to the appealing taste and rapid energy boost of energy drinks, although they also experience negative effects such as anxiety. It was found that young people often consume energy drinks without a specific reason, highlighting the need for increased awareness about the potential effects of such beverages on their bodies and health. Analysis of interviews revealed that while young people are aware of certain negative consequences of consuming energy drinks, their awareness is insufficient. The thesis conclusion underscores the necessity for increased awareness among parents, schools, and society as a whole, along with legal restrictions on the accessibility of energy drinks.
